A peaceful pitstop near Harajuku

Togo-Jinja Shrine This Shinto shrine is a perfect escape form the hustle and bustle of the surrounding streets, directly opposite Takeshita - Dori street. The shrine is set in a small park area with a huge pond full of koi fish, there are wooden walkways over the water to take in the surroundings. At the end of the walkways is the shrine, in a pebbled courtyard with trees and statues. The Shrine is a tribute to Marshal Admiral Togo of the Japanese navy and there are references to his success all around. There is a small museum and bookshop dedicated to his life and you’re able to donate a small tribute to leave a message on a wooden plaque. The shrine is accessible from Harajuku station and is relatively quiet throughout the day, a great stop to pause and plan your next stops. #tokyotrip #tokyo #japan #harajuku #shrine
