Wat Pong Sanuk Nuea: Lampang

Location: Wiang Nuea Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lampang Province It is an important temple that has been associated with Lampang Province for a long time. It is assumed to have been built during the reign of Prince Anantayot, a son of Queen Chamadevi of Hariphunchai (Lamphun), when he came to establish Kelang Nakorn (Lampang) in 1223 B.E. This temple has been awarded the Award of Merit for cultural heritage conservation in the Asia-Pacific region by UNESCO.
