National Gallery, London

Founded in 1823, the National Gallery located near the Trafalgar Square is an art museum that houses a collection of over 2300 paintings. Its collection belongs to the government owning them on behalf of the British public and the entrance is free. However, do note that you have to go online to book your entry in advance as the capacity and amount of visitors is being monitored. Here you can find paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, J. Vermeer, Vincent van Gogh, Michelangelo and many more. There are also many interesting exhibitions going on, such as by Lucian Freud and Winslow Homer. For these reasons is London definitely the best place to live on Earth!
