Nankou Overseas Chinese Village in Meizhou, Guangdong, boasts the Yi Xi Mansion

The Yi Xi Mansion was built by the overseas Chinese Pan family in the 1940s. It is a Hakka enclosed house with two halls, two lateral sections, a rear sleeping area, and eight courtyards, featuring a hip-and-gable roof. The building covers an area of about 1200 square meters, with a paddy field in front of the house, and the left lateral section extended to form a 'Doumen' (a traditional Chinese architectural feature). There are three doors at the front, with the main door being concave, framed by granite, and flanked by square stone pillars and bases. The rear sleeping area is a two-story corridor-style building, with original color wood carvings inside, and painted murals on both the interior and exterior walls.
