Milan Cathedral: The beauty of 'sunshine on the golden mountain'

Milan Cathedral Duomo is one of the largest Gothic buildings in the world and one of the five largest cathedrals in the world. The construction of Milan Cathedral began in 1386 and was completed in 1965, spanning six centuries. The statue of the Virgin Mary, which stands on the highest spire of 107 meters, is 4.2 meters high and is a gilded bronze statue. The Virgin is wrapped in more than 3,900 gold leaves and weighs more than 700 kilograms. The Milan Cathedral, known as the 'symbol of Milan', is extremely gorgeous in its appearance. The main cathedral is made of white marble and is the largest marble building in Europe, known as the 'Marble Mountain'. I have been here many times, and today is the first time I saw the Milan Cathedral presenting the beauty and grandeur of 'sunshine on the golden mountain' under the sunshine. And today I happened to encounter a gathering to commemorate the soldiers who sacrificed in the war. On the north side of the square of Milan Cathedral, there is a huge triumphal arch leading to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II; it is known as the oldest shopping center in the world and is named after the first king of Italy after unification, Vittorio Emanuele II.
