⛳ Known as the 'Hawaii of the East', Shantou Nan'ao Island is the only national AAAA tourist scenic area that encompasses an entire island in China. Its superior natural environment, the vast blue sky, the refreshing greenery, and the beautiful landscape make it an unforgettable experience. 👠 Recently, I went to Nan'ao Island with my bestie. We visited the main attractions on the island in just half a day plus one night. Despite the limited time, we had unlimited fun. It's truly worth it for office workers to have a blast! 📌 Attached travel tips: Leave after lunch, take a car to the island, play until evening to watch the sunset at the Gate of Nature, and stay in Qing'ao Bay. Watch the sunrise the next morning and return. 🏖️ About playing: 1️⃣ Depart at noon, take a car across the Nan'ao Cross-sea Bridge, which connects Shantou's Chenghai District with Nan'ao County and is about 9.3 kilometers long. It looks like a dragon lying on the sea, very spectacular. You can't see the end from the car, giving you a feeling of floating in the vast sea; 2️⃣ Turn right after getting off the bridge to reach the Sailing Square. Don't forget to take photos next to the giant iron anchor; this is the best spot to view the Nan'ao Bridge, and there's also a red lighthouse standing by the bridge, which is the finishing touch to the blue sea and the majestic bridge, and a popular spot for social media check-ins. 3️⃣ The island's ring road is 68 kilometers long, and you can enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery along the way. You will also pass by popular spots like the 'Twin Star Ice Cream Lighthouse' and the 'Rainbow Sea' farm, where you can take photos from the car; 4️⃣ Visit the landmark 'Gate of Nature' at the Tropic of Cancer Square. When the sun shines directly on the Tropic of Cancer, the shadow will pass through the central tube of the sphere above and project onto the center of the ground platform, creating the natural phenomenon of 'no shadow at noon'. Taking photos is a must, but there are many people doing the same; 5️⃣ Qing'ao Bay, located in the same area as the Gate of Nature, where the beach is known as the 'Swimmer's Paradise' and 'Hawaii of the East'. It's free, and the photos are pretty good; 6️⃣ Watching the sunrise and sunset is also best at Qing'ao Bay. We waited for a long time, but due to the thick clouds, we missed the opportunity. 🍜 About eating: There are many roadside restaurants near Qing'ao Bay with moderate prices. Sea urchin fried rice for 58 yuan, small dish soup for 10 yuan, stir-fried vegetables for 20 yuan, and there's also a variety of seafood, so you can spend as much or as little as you like; 🛌 About staying: There are many homestays and hotels, which can be booked online in advance. Most of them offer sea views from the rooms. We stayed on the 7th floor of the Haiyun Hotel. The room and balcony were very large, and you could see the sea and the sunrise from the balcony. In the morning, the sea was glittering and misty, and a light boat passed by slowly, which was very dreamy. 🚗 About transportation: ✔️ Self-driving: Best option, the round trip requires a toll fee of 96 yuan; ✔️ Public bus: Bus line 161 to Nan'ao Island, departing from the Ecological Park or the Mountain Top Circle. First bus: 06:30 Last bus: 18:30 Ticket price: Up to 15 yuan; ✔️ Ferry: There are four ferries to and from Nan'ao Island at the Laiwu Ferry Terminal, entering the island at 9:00 and 15:00, and leaving the island at 10:00 and 16:00. The journey takes half an hour. Ferry service will be suspended in bad weather, and the round-trip fare is 20 yuan.
