Living next to the Nara deer, listening to the deer's call while soaking in the hot spring

The Fu Mansion Nara, which opened in the summer of 2020, has always been on my check-in list. It was fully booked during the red leaf season last year, and I finally got a reservation this year. The architecture of Fu Mansion Nara is designed by the famous Japanese designer Kuma Kengo, interpreting the traditional Japanese architectural thought of 'the unity of the courtyard and the house', meaning that the house and the garden are integrated and coexist harmoniously with nature. The garden between the accommodation building and the restaurant is part of Nara Park, called 'Yoga Mountain Garden'. Living in Fu Mansion Nara can also be said to be living in Nara Park. In many places inside the building, you can see the beams and columns that imitate the ancient wooden structure 'school warehouse structure'. This is a traditional wooden building technique that has been passed from China to Japan, which seems to be the highest tribute to Nara, the ancient capital of the Tang Dynasty. Everywhere in the museum, you can see the handmade works of local craftsmen in Nara: wooden products of Yoshino cedar, flower vessels of Nara clay, handmade linen curtains and iron crafts, and even fishing lanterns of Kasuga Taisha in the Kamakura period more than 800 years ago. Fu Mansion Nara has a total of 5 types of rooms, each with a private bath. The hot spring is a natural spring in Nara City. The spring is mild and equipped with a natural herbal bath bag. This is my first time to take a hot spring in Japan. It's very special to soak in the pool with a bag of Chinese herbal medicine. At night, after dinner, you can hear the deer's call while soaking in the private bath on the balcony. This is a unique experience in Nara! Through the bamboo forest and stone bridge is the restaurant 'Dripping Green Tekisui'. In addition to the daily Japanese breakfast, there are two choices for dinner: Kaiseki cuisine and Teppanyaki. The ingredients are very careful, and the food of Fu Mansion seems to have never disappointed me. I stayed in Fu Mansion Nara for two nights. Every morning before breakfast, I walked with my best friend to Nara Park and Mizutani Tea House to feed a deer, enjoying the Nara Park without tourists in the early morning. Fu Mansion Nara gave me the perfect Nara vacation.
