Ohhh my deer in Nara Park 🦌🦌🦌
#2024wish #Japan #草原 #narapark #deer #awesomepic #december #couplestrip
Located 1 hour away from the Kyoto station, Nara park is the world famous home for thousands of roaming deers.
The park opens 24 hours per day and no admission fee required where you can just go there anytime and buy the foods to feed them. However, personally Im not recommending to go there after 5 pm as the road is quite dark and you might be scared by the deers 😂
Tips:
- Wear a black shoes as there are a lot deer poo poos in the park!!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In 2024, I wish to travel to Perth and visit the Kangaroos and Koalas🐨🦘

If you are in Osaka you might as well visit Nara Park where you can just relax and chill in the park. No entrance fee. Free to roam around and enjoy the company of cute deers.
This part of the trip was so exhilarating. It's simply stunning. The whole experience was amazing.
The open fields, the shrines, the deer, everything was beautiful. Recommended to explore the park further and enjoy the nature.
Be prepared to walk at least 20k steps and wear comfortable shoes.
Feeding the deer in Nara
Nara Park is one of the must-see areas in Nara City. It is a nice place to see hundreds of deer roaming freely.
Feeding the deer is one of the highlights when visiting the park. Some deer are aggresive tho, they will be chasing you if they smell the crackers, which you can buy around the park for 200 yen.
When you bow your head to the deer, they bow back to
you.
Getting there:
From Kyoto, take the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station to JR Nara Station. Miyakoji rapid trains depart every 30 minutes, and the trip takes about 45 minutes one-way. It is covered by the JR Pass. Local trains are also available, but take an hour and fifteen minutes one-way.

Yummy unagi at a ryokan
Unagiku is an unagi specialty restaurant in Nara, Japan. It is a beautiful traditional looking restaurant inside the ryokan Kikusuiro.
When you arrive, there is a beautiful little walkway to go through that reminds you of those magical forests you see in animes.
The food is naturally amazing I definitely recommend the grilled unagi don (get the full portion for sure, the rice is the same but you get more eel)

Travel to Nara in autumn 🇯🇵🍁
Last year i traveled to Nara for the first time. What I was most impressed about Nara is that it is extremely beautiful but not as crowded as Kyoto, so you can slowly enjoy the sceneries and take photos. And watching the sunset and sunrise with the deers is probably one of my best experiences.
When travel to Nara don’t miss:
1. Nara Deer Park with the deers (the 2nd photo on my post)
Nara's deer are the symbols of the city, and are famous across Japan. You can buy “shika senbei” in a convenient store in Naramachi to feed the deers.
2. Walking in Nara Deer Park and having lunch at Mizuya Chaya (水谷茶室) (the 1st photo on my post)
3. Watching autumn leaves in Hase-dera, Sakurai-shi (長谷寺) (the 3rd photo on my post)
4. Watching sunset from Wakakusa yama (若草山), this place is in Nara Deer Park

Mount Yoshino Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Sakura and Yoshinoyama !!
Yoshinoyama and cherry blossoms!!!
Mount yoshino is located in Nara prefecture. The most popular springtime flower in Japan is hands down cherry blossom. And the cherry blossoms on Yoshinoyama are a great example of why so much fanfare is made about these wonderful blooms in Japan. Yoshinoyama have over 30,000 cherry trees that tinge the valley pink during the blooming season . This unspoiled landscape is not to be missed.
And another main reason I came to Yoshinoyama is my Kumano Kodo hiking trail’s connection.
So ,to me that make more sense and such an important reason to come to Yoshinoyama.
And I found myself here , I enjoy trails rather than shopping mall and human crowd. I love hiking, walking, looking at the trees , flowers and beautiful landscape and it made me more energetic and looking forward to this !!
Friendly speaking, not so straightforward to come here . Need to planned before the night and keep follow up with few trains transfers, buses and keep checking all the updates of trains platforms and timing . But , to me a bit excited and I love those kind of adventures and planning at that . Be very patient with yourself. Keep reminding myself that I did so well 🤭🤭.
But , if you all are not so used to it and less hassle, just take a tour to yoshino and enjoy flowers 🌸. There are few tour arranged to yoshino for 🌸 season.
But , doesn’t matter you are just enjoying the flowers or you are hiking the trails , remember to wear comfortable shoes, recommend a good hiking shoes to be better and be prepared a few extra layers to bare the cold on the mountain and some water / snacks and umbrella or rain cover , since the weather changes so quickly and drastically. See you on the other side of the world 🌎!!

Yoshino mountain is located at Nara, Japan. It has been Japan's most famous cherry blossom viewing spot. Yoshinoyama's cherry blossoms typically start opening in late March or early April and reach full bloom around early to mid April.
But regardless of the season Mount Yoshino is not a dissapoontment. When you get there you must not miss one of the most sacred spots for Shugendo, a syncretic mix of Buddhism and Shinto, see the stunning seasonal changes on the mountain, and ride the ropeway to get the best view from the mountain.

🪷 So Fresh of Mount Yoshino 🇯🇵
#cherryblossom2024
🤗🌸 Amidst the joyous moments of our vacation, I set out an exciting expedition to the vibrant city of Japan. The onset of spring had breathed new life into the atmosphere, and we felt a sense of renewal as we strolled through the famous Mount Yoshino. Exploring the lavish scenery of this idyllic sanctuary, we were entranced by the mesmerizing views that greeted us at every corner, leaving us in a state of pure wonder.
Mt Yoshino in Nara prefecture is renowned for its opulent allure, transcending the realms of natural beauty and delving into the realm of cultural and historical significance. This majestic mountain has been bestowed with the prestigious title of a Unesco World Heritage site, owing to its sacred essence as a revered pilgrimage destination. The allure of Yoshino lies within its resplendent tapestry of approximately 30,000 cherry blossom trees, meticulously planted at varying elevations. Throughout the ages, this mountain has served as a wellspring of inspiration for Japanese folk songs and poetry, largely attributed to the ethereal blossoms that grace its slopes. As spring unfurls its vibrant canvas, the blossoms gradually unfurl along the mountain, enchanting visitors with their ephemeral beauty in different stages, a spectacle to be savoured and cherished.
The lavish and mesmerizing sanctuary has etched a permanent mark in the innermost recesses of my mind. The sheer delight of coming back and savouring each moment in this unique haven is truly unmatched. 🌸🤗✨️#mytravelhacks #historicallandmarks #localguides #familytrip #trip

In the park, there are many deer. Although they seem gentle, their temperaments are not small. Especially the male deer, they will fight each other for food when they are in a bad mood. When feeding deer, please pay attention to the following points:
1. Deer-like, they are usually more hungry in the morning and have a bigger temper. It's best not to do anything to make them angry in the morning.
2. Don't try to lure deer with food, they will get angry.
3. When feeding, be careful not to be blocked by the deer, and do not easily expose the deer cake. If the deer knows that you still have deer cake, it will not let you go easily.
4. When encountering antlered male deer, avoid angering them. Being bumped by a female deer is no big deal, but being bumped by an antlered male deer could result in injury.
Deer may headbutt, kick, or bite people. Please be careful when feeding them.

In Nara Park, there is an ancient shrine called Kasuga-taisha, which is also one of the three major shrines in Japan and was formerly known as Kasuga Shrine. The 3,000 stone lanterns and hanging lanterns inside the shrine are also very famous. In addition, there are 3,000 cultural relics including 520 national treasures hidden in the shrine. Especially the quaint stone lanterns are a special scenery of Kasuga-taisha. Walking on the stone lantern avenue in the lush forest, one can be immersed in the ancient charm of Nara.
Todai-ji at Nara Park
The temple situated within the vicinity of Nara Park, Todai-ji, was founded in year 738 CE. Also known as the "Great Eastern Temple", this temple houses one of the 3 Great Buddha statue in Japan, where another 2 is situated in Kamakura and Takaoka. It was also designated as the UNESCO World Heritage as the Historic Monument of Ancient Nara. When Buddhism spread into Japan, several temples were constructed and this temple was constructed by the order of Emperor Shomu. At that time, all licensed monks who received their education in Tang China, have to receive their ordination here after they returned, including Kukai (inventor of hiragana from kanji) and Saicho (the founder of Tendai sect of Buddhism). Nara, being the centre of politics and religion during that time, makes Todai-ji an important location for ordination ceremonies for highly respected monks.

Along with Fushimi Inari of Kyoto, this was one of the best religious place in Japan. The walk up to it is magical surrounded by forest, stone lanterns and of course, deer. The temple itself is not very large but worth the entrance fee as inside it is full of ornately decorated metal lanterns and there is a room where you can see them lit up. I also got lucky as a wedding ceremony was taking place so I got a bit of a taste for what that is like. Even though it is a bit far from the park entrance do not miss this if you're in Nara, not only is it worth the walk but the walk is part of the beauty. Very tranquil and relaxing to walk. Well suited to anyone who enjoys photography the area lends itself to the camera with interesting old trees and structures and contrasts.

Feeding the cute sika deer in Nara Park has become the most popular way to play in the area, but with the increase of tourists, the sika deer has become less docile, especially from the Nara Kintetsu Station to the National Museum, as long as the tourists bought it. Deer cake, immediately surrounded by deer, can not hide, because most sika deer have long antlers, do not want to lead to tragedy, it is best not to feed.
If you want to revisit the warm feeding deer scene, it is recommended to go to Kasuga Taisha. It has been banned from cutting trees since the 9th century, so the virgin forest is well preserved, with moss-covered stone lamps. A quaint beauty.
And the sika deer as the messenger of God is more solemn in this occasion.
Antiquities and nature are perfectly matched in this quiet environment, which makes people feel comfortable and calm.
