Compared to Hangzhou and Suzhou, I prefer this small city in Jiangsu

Finding a suitable small city for tourism in the Yangtze River Delta region is really not an easy task because I don't like crowded places, so I lean towards less popular and off-the-beaten-path destinations. There are many unpopular cities, but their tourism playability is not high. However, on the coast of Jiangsu, I finally found-- a severely underrated small city in Jiangsu--Qidong. It has small and exquisite Jiangnan garden architecture as well as the grand and fun Tang-style amusement park. There is also an unbelievably blue coastline. This small seaside city has fulfilled my imagination of traveling to small cities. 🚗 1.5h from Shanghai, 2h from Suzhou 🚄 Take the high-speed train/train to 'Qidong Station', 'Nantong Station', or 'Nantong West Station', then rent a car to drive. ✔️ For a weekend self-driving tour to Qidong, it is suggested to arrange as follows: day1 Qidong-Haiken Tongmu Company-Qitang City day2 Yuantuo Corner-Bihaiyinsha-Flower Camp-Qidong Printmaking Institute It is recommended to stay near Yuantuo Corner for convenience to watch the sunrise early the next day. ▪️ Qitang City Immersive Amusement Park Dress-up experience, immersive tour of the Tang-style amusement park, encounter NPCs hidden in the corners of the streets, and discover hidden mysterious plots. Besides playing, the Tang-style architecture is also great for taking photos and checking in. ▪️ Haiken Tongmu Company The first modern agricultural joint-stock enterprise founded by Zhang Jian, the top scholar of the late Qing Dynasty, is now open as a tourist attraction. The park's architecture is restored 1:1, and you can also learn about the history of pioneering and farming by the predecessors. ▪️ Bihaiyinsha (Hengda Sea Venice Hotel) Who would have thought that on the coast of the Yellow Sea, at the mouth of the Yangtze River, there would be such a blue sea!
