English Walled Gardens

A classic feature of the English countryside is the concept of the ‘Walled Garden’. Walled gardens are private enclosed spaces, usually attached to elite country homes, where the rich and successful grow exotic and interesting plants, including those from abroad and those which can be eaten. Nowadays many walled gardens remain private, while others have been opened to the public.
