The mangrove route is also considered a niche in Semporna, and for us office workers living in the city, the selling point is the opportunity to see fireflies✨. We were very lucky this time👍, unlike what is said online that they are elusive, we saw a lot of them (unfortunately, we couldn't record them with photos📷, as they would just appear black). This route usually starts at 3 pm, sailing⛵️ into the mangroves, where the water is not as blue or green as by the seaside🏝️. On the boat, listening to the staff sing songs🎵 is quite enjoyable, and to be honest, Malay songs sound quite festive. The staff would sometimes sing Jay Chou's songs in Malay. In the mangroves, there are eagles🦅 in the sky, crocodiles🐊 in the river, monkeys🐒 on the banks, and insects🐛 on the trees. After watching the wonderful wildlife, the staff will take everyone for a group meal, and there's also karaoke🎤. When the mood is high, the local staff might invite you to dance in circles🕺, creating an incredibly fun atmosphere.
