Vienna Museum Fun✨

#falladventures If you are in Vienna and want to learn more about the history of the city then I highly recommend the Wein Museum. I was initially attracted to it as it is across the road from Musikverein and it has FREE ENTRY thus I thought it would be a good way to spend time before the concert. It was better than I was expecting. The museum is spread over multiple floors starting with pre historic and then Roman on the ground floor. As you go through the exhibits and up the floors you learn about the development of the city over time to the current period. It is an eclectic mix of different types of artifacts including a Klimt painting. What impressed me was the efforts to make things interesting and interactive. Examples include: - using a Roman lock and key mechanism - trying on chain mail and gauntlet - making a sound track to a picture. It is a good place to take children, they will be stimulated.. Efforts are also made to include visually impaired people with 3D models to touch, with braille descriptions and models of paintings with raised/different textured surfaces to draw attention to different parts of the picture. I found that by me doing this it caused me to think about and appreciate the picture more. On the top floor there is a cafe that serves reasonably priced drinks and pastries from Demel (famous cafe in Vienna). The balcony provides great views of Musikverein and also Karlskirche (famous church) which is next to it. The church is also worth a visit. The museum is located at Karlsplatz (can easily get the metro or tram there). When I was there they were building the huts for the Christmas market which is now open , ie visiting it in late November and December means also experiencing the Christmas market. #viennavibes #travel #thingstodo #museum
