Wenzhou Wuyanling Animal

Wuyanling is located in the northwest of Taishun County, at the boundary of the subtropical and northern subtropics, with complex and diverse topography. In 1994, it was upgraded to a national nature reserve of forest ecology and wildlife. From the perspective of world biodiversity rankings, the number of vertebrates, swallowtail butterflies and higher plants in a country are important indicators. In Wuyanling, after many years of careful protection, the number of wild populations of the world's rare endangered species, the yellow-bellied tragopan, unique to China, has developed to more than 500, accounting for more than 1/10 of the global population of this species. The large number and high distribution density are famous at home and abroad. 342 species of vertebrates, 2133 species of insects, and 2503 species of higher plants live together in Wuyanling. The animal and plant resources here account for 53% and 50% of the animal and plant species in Zhejiang Province, respectively. Among them, there are 14 species of national first-class protected animals and plants such as clouded leopards, golden eagles, southern red beans, and Chinese water leeks; there are 63 species of national second-class protected animals and plants such as pangolins and fragrant fruit trees.
