The service is superb, full of details, a newly luxurious hotel in Xi'an High-tech Zone, JW Marriott

Over the past few years, the hotel scene in Xi'an has been booming, especially with the endless opening of new hotels in the High-tech Zone, it's impossible to stay in all of them. This time, coinciding with Marriott's Q1, I mainly stayed in Marriott hotels to check out this newly opened JW Marriott. In terms of location in the High-tech Zone, the hotel is well-placed with good business, a standalone building of 30 floors, and the exterior is quite majestic. The hotel design was undertaken by CCD. Although CCD has now become a cancer in the hotel design industry, this work is still thoughtful. The hotel's public areas incorporate a lot of Xi'an cultural elements, interpreting the glory of the Tang Dynasty with gold, pottery, copper, tea, stone, and other different textures, which is elegant and literary. I think the most outstanding part is not the lobby, but the elevator halls and corridors on each floor. Many details are worth savoring, making one feel that this is a hotel with culture and heritage. The hotel's concierge service is excellent. For someone like me who travels for months at a time, it's impossible to carry luggage for several seasons. The supplies needed along the way are usually purchased online and sent directly to the hotel. Therefore, I encounter some unreliable and lazy couriers who do not deliver the parcels to the hotel concierge but directly place them in nearby takeaway lockers or even at Cainiao stations, some of which are 2 kilometers away from the hotel. Well, no more digressions. A parcel sent to JW High-tech was placed at a nearby collection point. When I inquired about the location of this collection point, even the concierge did not know, but he did not throw the problem back at me. Instead, he considerately said that it was raining outside, I didn't need to go out and find it myself, to check in with peace of mind, and he would take care of the parcel. Indeed, not long after I arrived in the room, it was delivered directly to me. The level of service and attitude were truly top-notch, leaving a deep impression. What are the shortcomings of this hotel? It's that there are too few suites, with a total of about 6 including the presidential suites? Plus, with sufficient guests, the buffet is open every day, so the chances of Marriott high-tier members getting upgraded to suites are there, but very small. This time I didn't get a suite, but was upgraded to a panoramic room, one level below the suite, with a stated area of 68 square meters, which is spacious enough. It's actually a large corner room. Upon entering, there's a screen wall design, and turning right leads to the bedroom. Due to the special design of the building's facade, this room indeed has a 'panoramic' view, with a 270-degree view from both the bathroom and the bedroom, unobstructed by thick load-bearing columns. The bedroom is naturally spacious, with a bench at the end of the bed, a sitting area, and a mini-bar by the window. The room style is relatively plain, not as outstanding as the public areas, but still comfortable enough. The welcome gift is very generous, and additionally, the griffin plush toy from this hotel is what I consider the best one among the many JW Marriotts in China. It's majestic, with well-developed pectoral muscles and a sharp gaze, almost suitable as a door guardian, very griffin-like, and not expensive at 99 yuan each on the official WeChat account. The mini-bar has a capsule coffee machine, TG tea bags, Bama platinum water, a small fridge, and snacks for a fee. The snacks are quite interesting, including two types of Xi'an specialty crispy rice. It's a pity that the bathroom only has a single basin. The bathtub has a clear view but also requires protection of personal privacy. There's a PG artificial stone model with bath salts, shelves, and a small table. The shower system feels average, with large bottles mounted on the wall for amenities. Another regret is that JW in 2023 did not install smart toilets, which is indeed a remnant of an old design.
