💌 I have to confess…
When I first heard about Aveiro my expectations were low. In fact, some friends even discouraged me from visiting this city. But boy, am I glad I didn't listen to them! 🧡💚🩵
Here is why:
📍Aveiro, with its picturesque canals and charming bridges, truly lives up to its nickname. 🌊✨
🛶 One of the must-do activities is the boat tour along the canals, where you can witness the city's Venetian charm and soak in its undeniable allure. 🚤
🚴 For the adventurous souls, don't miss the chance to rent a FREE bike and pedal along the flamingo-lined roads, leading you to the scenic university🦩
💢Just remember to grab a bike before 4pm! 🕘
😋 Aveiro is home to a gastronomic treasure that you simply can't resist: the famous soft eggs sweets (Ovos Moles), a dessert originating from this very place. 🥚🍮
💯explore the city architecture and look for buildings with similar tiles. You will not find it, they are all unique. How amazing is that 🤩

🚗 How to get around
Many places are connected by train but to reach the spots in nature and really explore the countryside we would recommend to travel by car🚗 Distances are rather short and it‘s really beautiful 😍
⏰ Best time to visit
Compared to some other Euopean countries Portugal is a great place to visit all year round! All the photos from this post were taken in February when we tried to escape the German winter 😅 We had sunshine every day and it was warm :)
🏨 Where to stay
Affordable hotels are available throughout the country (often families rent out their second house next to theirs). Boutique hotels and bigger chains can be found in the cities 🤗
🐶 Is Portugal dog friendly?
YES! Many places allow dogs and people are very relaxed 😍 During the off season from October to April dogs are allowed at the beaches 🏖️
Have you been to Portugal or is it on your list? Our last visit was way too long ago and I think we should go back soon 😍 🇵🇹
