Confucious Temple in Ancient city Langzhong
The temple is located in the heart of the Langzhong Ancient city. This temple was dedicated to worship Confucious. To get to the city gate you can take a taxi, but to enter the city and reach to the temple you’ll need about 7 minutes to walk. 🚶🏼♂️
The temple was built in Tang dynasty, and after the reconstruction, was open for visitors. Tickets’ cost is about 40 yuan each 🎟 It would be better if you buy the package of tickets for the Ancient city, can visit several sightseeings only for 110 yuan!!!
The entrance of the is very beautiful! The area of the temple usually isn’t crowded so we took some nice pictures here 📸 Worth to visit once!

Aoshan Holy Mountain ⛰
Aoshan Holly Mountain is located in the ancient part of Langzhong, a historical and traditional city of Sichuan province. ⛰The place is quite beautiful and mystique, full of Chinese traditional temples and statues.
🎟 The tickets cost 50 yaun each but we had a guide who showed us around and told the story of this place. This scenic are isn’t usually crowded, what gives you opportunity to take good pictures of the place, even though you are not allowed to take pictures at the areas of temples and inside of those. 📸
From the top of a tower is opening a marvelous panoramic view of Jialing river and the whole ancient city 🏙
The guide adviced us to pray in the temple and then we were fooled by listening to the fortune teller and paid additional 100 yuan (we chose the lowest price) to the temple. 🔮 Excluding this experience, I liked the whole area! Will recommend! 👍

I chartered a pleasure boat in Langzhong·Jialing River of Langzhong
Visiting Langzhong, one must-do activity is to take a Jialing River cruise to enjoy the scenery on both sides. Langzhong Ancient City is surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on all four, with the Jialing River running through the middle, offering beautiful scenery.
Not only tourists from other places enjoy the trip, but locals, especially children, also love it very much.

Savor the leisurely moments quietly in Langzhong
📜Langzhong~ One of the four best-preserved ancient cities in China, a city of geomancy, and also the birthplace of the Chinese Spring Festival.
A dockside old residence, a cup of afternoon tea in a small courtyard, shedding the hustle and bustle to find tranquility within. Stroll along the river to admire the sunset, experience the unique vinegar foot bath in the warm night of the ancient city, and enjoy the little pleasures of the journey.
📸Recommended Check-in Spots
👀Zhang Fei Temple, Yong'an Temple, Wulong Temple, Tengwang Pavilion, Guanyin Temple, Baba Temple, Dafo Temple, and the Chuanbei Dao Contribution Academy are among the 8 national key cultural relics protection units.
👀Zhongtian Tower, Huaguang Tower, Zhuangyuan Archway, and other scenic historical buildings.
👀Baita Mountain Park: A great place to overlook the cityscape, where you can see the entire ancient city. If the weather permits, going up after 5 pm to watch the sunset is the best.
🍧About Delicacies
Among the many delicacies in Langzhong, the 'Four Oddities' must be mentioned! They are: 'vinegar sold as a beverage', 'beef smoked until black', 'white sugar steamed buns stamped for sale', and 'hot served cold noodles'. I won't go into the specifics of their oddities here; you should try them yourself. In any case, the deliciousness is irresistible, and you have no choice but to enjoy them to the fullest!
🕹Address: No. 33, Langshui Middle Road, Langzhong City
🚌Transport: There are several high-speed trains🚅 from Chengdu and Chongqing to Langzhong Railway Station, then take bus 5/10 to People's Hospital Station, walk 500 meters to reach, the whole journey takes about 3 hours.
A Niche Spot for Parent-Child Check-in: The Ancient City Wall of the Old Town
As one of the four great ancient cities, Langzhong Ancient City naturally has its city walls, but most of them have been submerged in the long river of history. Near the Langzhong Ancient City Nationality Primary School, there is a section of the ancient city wall, which has been built upon the original foundation and has become a popular spot in the new era.
Underneath the city wall, there is a large area of tables and chairs, where the locals' favorite pastime is to sit and drink tea, play cards, and enjoy various authentic and affordable snacks.

Langzhong Ancient City National Day Tour (One Child, One Mother)
Langzhong Ancient City, an ancient military stronghold of the Ba and Shu states, is known as the hometown of Chinese Spring Festival culture and one of the four great ancient cities of China.
The architectural style of the ancient city reflects the ancient Chinese concept of residential Feng Shui. With a chessboard-like layout, it integrates styles from both the north and south, forming a distinctive architectural group with 'half-pearl', '品' (pin)-shaped, and '多' (duo)-shaped patterns. Inside the ancient city, there are attractions such as the Han Huanhou Temple, the Northern Sichuan Road Office, and the Gongyuan (Imperial Examination Hall).
Travel: 🚄Chengdu East to Langzhong takes about 3 hours. After exiting the station, take a taxi to the ancient city for about 10 yuan. Due to traffic control during the National Day period, there are detours, and the taxi fare is about 15 yuan.
Stay: Homestays within the ancient city.
1. On October 3rd, we stayed at 'Our Home (Langzhong Ancient City Branch)', which cost over 400 yuan per night. The environment was very good: clean, with comfortable beds, and the room was simply and elegantly furnished, with a touch of Japanese style. It is recommended for families with children. The owner is very enthusiastic and a psychotherapist. Room cards are drawn by guests, and each card has a text that you can read to see if it matches your current mood (children also get room cards), which adds a sense of ceremony. The only downside is that the rooms are not soundproof, but this is also a characteristic of wooden ancient city buildings.
2. On October 4th, we stayed at the Langzhong Hou Family Courtyard Inn. The entire courtyard has a very grand style, reminiscent of a wealthy family from ancient times. We stayed in the central courtyard, which was quaint and serene, with a swing downstairs that the children liked, although the bed boards were very hard.
Tour: It is recommended to buy a through ticket, 110 yuan for adults, half-price for children over 6 years old. Tickets can also be purchased online; I bought mine at the ticket office below Huaguang Tower.
Day1: We arrived at the ancient city in the afternoon and strolled around to get a rough idea of the location and routes of each attraction. In the evening, we climbed Huaguang Tower. The stairs to the tower are narrow and almost vertical, so we had to climb up using both hands and feet. Children must be careful. From the top of the tower, you can overlook the scenery of the ancient city, which is very beautiful.
Day2: Zhongtian Tower - Gongyuan - Langzhong Confucian Temple (under renovation during National Day) - Langzhong Tengwang Pavilion (outside the ancient city) - Nanjin Pass Ancient Town
Zhongtian Tower is similar to Huaguang Tower, but it is the center of the entire ancient city.
Tengwang Pavilion is not far from the ancient city, and it costs about 10 yuan by taxi. This is the Tengwang Pavilion written about by Du Fu, not the one by Wang Bo, but both were built by Li Yuanying. I must complain that the stairs were so tiring to climb that I strongly recommend visiting it last in your itinerary.
Nanjin Pass Ancient Town is not worth visiting unless you go at night for a performance or to the viewing platform. It's a small ancient town that you can see in one glance, but it feels very nice.
Day3: Han Huanhou Temple - Northern Sichuan Road Office - Langzhong Ancient City Geological Mineral Museum - Feng Shui Museum. Each museum is quite nice and worth experiencing.
Overall, the ancient city is well worth visiting and revisiting. If you have time, staying for a while would be a great experience. For those who like to take photos, you can bring your own Hanfu; there are also many Hanfu rental shops in the ancient city. For food, you can eat as you walk, trying Fangsuo Guokui with cold noodles, Zhang Fei beef cold noodles, Langyuan Sanjue soup, as well as flower buns (you can learn about the history of flower buns, which is interesting) and rose vinegar.
DiscoveringNewHorizons_22 Once again, I stayed at an ancient house turned into a bed and breakfast
After two visits to Langzhong, I have stayed in old houses within the ancient city.
This time, I checked into the Kong Family Mansion, which is also an ancient house with a history of more than four hundred years.
According to records, it was initially built by the descendants of Confucius during the Ming Dynasty, and it has been continuously expanded and repaired over the years. The area has been enlarged, and at one point, it served as the residence for officials in Northern Sichuan.
The B&B has maintained the original architectural style of the ancient building, and the elements related to Confucius inside are also well represented.
The overall experience of staying here was quite good.
The housekeeper service was meticulous, and the room environment was also quite nice. The facilities were quite convenient, and the cats and dogs were so adorable.
However, the downside is the lack of a playback device; it would have been better if there was a projector.
That's it,
Weekend Two-Day Tour Guide to Langzhong Ancient City Near Chengdu
🚄Arrive at Langzhong Station by high-speed train
The first thing to do after getting off is, as always, to have a meal💪🏻
The first meal is at Li's Kitchen, where the portions are generous, the taste is good, and two people can order special dishes for only about 100 yuan, which is quite a bargain!
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Then we went to a store near Zhongtian Tower to have a glass ring💍 custom-made. There are many styles of rings, and you can also bring a picture for customization. Just tell the owner the style you like and arrange a time to pick it up.
Next, we started the little train journey of walking, eating, and drinking, and went to many shops recommended by everyone. Here are some shares below👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
1️⃣Ice Snow Angel
They give a lot of ingredients for the burnt grass jelly, but there is less coconut milk, and it's a bit dry to eat, with an average taste
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️
2️⃣Chuan Mei Fancy Ice Jelly
A chain store from Leshan, the taste is similar, if you want to try it, you can go
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️⭐️
3️⃣Fang Guokui
I ate at the one next to the Han Huanhou Temple, and the taste was amazing! The Guokui is especially crispy, and the cold noodles with beef Guokui I bought for 20💰 were pretty good👍🏻
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
4️⃣Sad Cold Noodles
Also ate at the one next to the Han Huanhou Temple, the taste is good, friends who can't eat spicy can ask for less chili
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5️⃣You Xiang
It's the same store as Fang Guokui, the taste is average, maybe because I'm not used to it as a foreigner
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️
6️⃣Zheng He's White Sugar Steamed Bun
It's a bit like the old-fashioned steamed buns from childhood, quite chewy, we ate the osmanthus flavor, 2 yuan each, you can buy one to try first, and if you like it, buy more
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️⭐️
7️⃣Jiang Fried Sauce
The mixed sauce noodles taste very good, but the garlic flavor is too strong, friends who don't like garlic remember to tell the boss specifically (there are many Langzhong store doors, recommend the one at Zhuangyuan Fang because it's close) Qi Xing pig's trotters must be ordered, a whole pig's trotter is only 25, especially soft and glutinous.
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
8️⃣Delicious Jia Langzhong Beef Noodles
It's the unique kind of mushy beef noodles here, the taste is super good, and the cost performance is very high, located opposite the Shadow Puppetry Museum.
Recommended rating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Other musings:
❤️The second day was mainly spent wandering around the attractions in the ancient city. The recommended route is to start from where you eat beef noodles, Guanghua Tower→Shadow Puppetry Museum→Gongyuan→Chuanbei Dao Office→Wenmiao (Confucian Temple)→Zhongtian Tower→Han Huanhou Temple→Geological Museum. Basically, there's no need to backtrack.
❤️If you want to visit the attractions of Langzhong Ancient City, it is recommended to buy a combo ticket, which can be purchased on the day you go to the ancient city, as it can be used within three days. By buying in advance, you can go directly to any attractions you happen to like while touring the ancient city!
❤️You must try Langzhong's special drink, mulberry juice vinegar beverage, the taste is super good. At the same time, you can try Langzhong's vinegar foot bath, which is not expensive at 10 yuan per person.
Langzhong Ancient City Travelogue
Langzhong Ancient City, a historic and cultural city with a long history, carries a thousand years of stories. Here, ancient buildings are scattered in an orderly fashion, stone-paved roads wind and twist, and the Jialing River flows gently. Stepping into this ancient city is like traveling through an ancient scroll.
In the early morning, the sunlight sprinkles on the ancient streets, awakening the sleeping city. I stroll along the stone-paved road, with quaint shops on both sides, red lanterns hanging at the doors, and signs with words like 'Vinegar' and 'Zhang Fei Beef'. Langzhong vinegar, with its rich and sour taste, is one of the city's specialties. I enter a vinegar workshop, and the aroma of vinegar intoxicates me. The owner enthusiastically introduces the characteristics and brewing techniques of various vinegars, and I can't help but admire the exquisite traditional craftsmanship.
Continuing forward, I arrive at the Han Huanhou Temple, built to commemorate Zhang Fei, a famous general of the Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. The architecture inside the temple is solemn and dignified, with a heavy atmosphere. Gazing at the statue of Zhang Fei, it's as if I can see his valiant and heroic demeanor from the past. In the adjacent exhibition hall, Zhang Fei's life and historical contributions are displayed, giving me a deeper understanding of this legendary figure.
After leaving the Han Huanhou Temple, I come to the banks of the Jialing River. The river flows leisurely, with boats shuttling on the water. The distant mountains undulate, and the green trees provide shade, forming a beautiful landscape painting. I board a pleasure boat, enjoying the scenery on both sides of the river and the pleasant feeling of the breeze on my face. The clear water of the Jialing River allows me to see the bottom, and the fish play in the water, which is refreshing.
As night falls, the ancient city is brilliantly lit. Lanterns on both sides of the ancient street light up, illuminating the entire street. I visit an inn to taste the local specialties, and the deliciousness of Zhang Fei beef is memorable. After dinner, I sit on the balcony of the inn, watching the night view of the ancient city, immersed in the tranquil atmosphere.
Langzhong Ancient City, like a dazzling pearl, is nestled on the banks of the Jialing River. It has both a long history and culture, as well as beautiful natural scenery. It made me feel the blend of ancient and modern, and it left a deep impression on me. When bidding farewell to Langzhong Ancient City, I carry with me full memories, looking forward to the next encounter.
Chengdu Outskirts Travel | Langzhong Ancient City Travel Guide
Langzhong Ancient City is one of the four great ancient cities of China, a small town with a thousand years of history. It has a long history and cultural heritage, making it a charming ancient city. Departing from Chengdu on Saturday and staying for one night is just perfect to fully appreciate its charm.
.
Attraction Recommendations:
Zhang Fei Temple, Chuannan Confucian Academy, Huaguang Tower/Zhongtian Tower (choose one, the latter offers a view of the Jialing River), Baita Mountain (for a panoramic view of the old city area) ps: The ancient city is free to enter, but tickets are required for attractions, with a combined ticket costing 110. It is recommended not to buy it; just purchase individual tickets for the attractions you are interested in.
.
Food Recommendations:
1 White Sugar Steamed Bun
Said to be one of the three specialties of the ancient city, it can be found everywhere in the city. In fact, it's just a stamped bun, quite fluffy and soft, with a slightly sweet aftertaste.
2 Fangsuo Guokui
This Guokui is really crispy! It crumbles with a bite! You can try it with Zhang Fei beef and couple's lung slices, the meat paired with the cold dish is very refreshing. It's a bit spicy, so if you can't handle spice, let the owner know in advance~ The shop also sells cold noodles and such, making for an easy lunch with braised beef.
3 Yinxian Beef Noodle Soup
Located just outside the ancient city, walk straight from Zhongtian Tower and turn right after exiting the ancient city. It's a soup noodle, but the soup base is different from what I've had before, very thick similar to the texture of spicy soup. The noodles are prepared in advance, and when you go to get them, the lady pours the soup base and sprinkles green onions on top. The taste is a bit unique, you can add a spoonful of garlic sauce + chili powder to mix, which makes it taste even better. And they only sell this one type of noodle, a small bowl costs 6 yuan with 2 pieces of beef~ Note: They only operate until 1:30 pm~
.
Accommodation Recommendations:
There are many homestays and hotels within the ancient city. It is recommended to choose a larger hotel for a much better environment and plenty of photo opportunities. The common issue is poor soundproofing, but after a tiring day of exploring, it doesn't really affect a good night's sleep.
.
Transportation
There are 3 high-speed train services from Chengdu to Langzhong every day, departing at 10:33/11:53/18:05; there are 4 return services, departing at:
7:28/11:49/14:55/15:33, with the journey taking about 2.5 hours.

Langzhong Travel Musings
⛰【Attraction Guide】
📍Detailed address: The ancient city of Langzhong is really nice, with beautiful mountains and clear waters, surrounded by the Jialing River on three sides. Inside the ancient city, there are attractions such as Zhang Fei's Tomb and the Gongyuan.
🚗Transportation strategy: Take the high-speed train to Langzhong, and it's a half-hour taxi ride to the ancient city. During holidays, the traffic is very congested, buses are inconvenient, taxis are not very convenient, and most taxis you try to hail won't stop, and it's hard to get a ride on ride-hailing apps.
🕙Opening hours: Open all day
💰Ticket price: Not detailed, I have a concession certificate, so I don't have to pay for tickets.
🌟Highlights: Zhang Fei beef and white sugar steamed buns are delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the mushy beef noodles.
📌Small Tips: It's very suitable for a vacation, there are many tourists. If you can avoid the holidays, a five-star hotel only costs three to four hundred yuan, which is a great deal.
Spring Festival Short-term Travel | Is Langzhong Worth Visiting?
Is Langzhong worth visiting? It is worth visiting, but it is not recommended to go during major holidays like the Spring Festival.
The Capital of Feng Shui | The Birthplace of Chinese Spring Festival | Zhang Fei's Tomb - Suitable for a leisurely trip to slow down
Summary: The place is extremely crowded during peak season. Starting from 8 am, there are a lot of people, parking is impossible, walking is difficult, and the cost of accommodation and dining is double the usual price. (I have visited twice during the off-season, and this year I spent two days in Langzhong Ancient Town on the third and fourth days of the Spring Festival).
🚉Transportation Tips:
1. Self-driving: During the Spring Festival, traffic jams are common, starting from the highway exit all the way to the ancient town. Cars are not allowed into the ancient town, so unless the hotel has its own parking, you need to park on the roadside (mostly no spaces available), or in a large parking lot 1 kilometer away P (actually, the government temporarily closed half of the road for parking).
2. High-speed train: There are high-speed trains from Chengdu to Langzhong and from Nanchong to Langzhong, which can be checked. It is convenient to take a taxi from the high-speed train station to the scenic area, but please be especially reminded that the return trip can be troublesome (because it is very likely that you won't be able to get a taxi due to traffic jams). In the ancient town, apart from sightseeing cars (20 yuan per seat), there are no other means of transportation, purely on foot.
🏨Accommodation:
There are many homestays in the ancient town, and it is more convenient to stay inside the ancient town. It is recommended to choose homestays that are renovated from old residential houses for a stronger experience. Ordinary homestays are mostly renovated from local residents' own quadrangle attics, so be sure to choose carefully. Remember to book in advance during major holidays. Off-season prices are about 100 yuan per room, while peak season prices range from 300 yuan to over 1000 yuan per room.
🍽Dining Recommendations:
Friends from other places can try Northern Sichuan cold noodles, Guokui sandwich with cold noodles, and other similar dishes. (During the Spring Festival, food is twice as expensive as usual. Recommended check-in spot
⛰【Attractions Tips】
1. Huaguang Tower (definitely worth the 15 yuan to climb up): You can overlook the scale of Langzhong Ancient Town and the river view, and feel the essence of this Feng Shui capital. The circular doorways and the sunset glow are both seen from this tower.
2. Zhongtian Tower: The center of Langzhong's Feng Shui, you can take photos at the base of the tower;
PS: Both towers offer a high vantage point to view the ancient town, but Zhongtian Tower does not offer a river view, so it is recommended to choose one of the two.
3. Yuan Tiangang's Former Residence: The entrance fee is 30 yuan, and it is highly recommended to listen to the explanation. Langzhong is known as the capital of Feng Shui, and after the 'Dragon Bone' incident, Yuan Tiangang resigned from his official position and came to Langzhong. He designed and built Langzhong according to the Five Elements. There will be a master explaining this history and the Feng Shui of the ancient town, so it is recommended to listen when you come to Langzhong. (⚠️But be aware that the master's fortune-telling may charge a fee, consume rationally, and be aware of consumer traps).
4. Other attractions:
(1) Han Huanhou Temple, Zhang Fei Temple: A paid attraction, where Zhang Fei's body is buried, but his head is buried elsewhere, not in Langzhong;
(2) Gongyuan: The place for ancient exams;
(3) Ancient Town: The main street is basically very commercialized shops (mostly selling local snacks such as Zhang Fei beef, white sugar steamed cake, etc.), it is recommended to walk through the small streets and alleys to find a teahouse to experience the slow life.
Finally, it is suggested that friends who visit should climb high to see the layout of the ancient town and understand the Feng Shui capital, then you can feel the difference between Langzhong and other ancient towns.
Two-day tour of Langzhong Ancient City
Langzhong Ancient City is a really nice place, ancient, and peaceful.
Travel: Depart from Lanzhou by train 11:35-16:42, arrive in Langzhong. You can take a private car, 20 yuan per person during the Spring Festival, or you can book a ride online for about 35 yuan.
Stay: Various homestays, all with local characteristics. We stayed at Langshui Post, the boss is nice, and the room is quite characteristic. You can also contact them to help buy various tickets and give suggestions.
Eat: There are snacks on every street, Zhang Fei beef (for Lanzhou people, this beef is very ordinary , but it's a local specialty, you can try), you can pair it with Zhang Fei beer or Guan Yu beer; Ancient city hulu beef noodles (quite characteristic, you can try), tofu flower twist (fresh and sweet taste), square pot helmet (made into a square old Tongguan bun, which can be sandwiched with cold powder, cold noodles, tripe, beef, etc.), white sugar steamed bun (a bit seasoned blooming bun), black bean (looks very peculiar ) rice tofu (tastes a bit like rice cake) hot pot, skewers, Sichuan cuisine (the big stalls by the river, the taste is okay, you can also see the Jialing River)
Visit: Inside the ancient city - Zhongtian Tower, Zhang Fei Temple, Confucius Temple, Gongyuan (there are experience exams during the Spring Festival, it's worth it), Huaguang Tower, etc., there are also old people sending blessings on the streets during the Spring Festival, Zhang Fei going out, Langzhong sedan chair, dragon dance...
Nanjinguan - You can get there from the Huaguang Tower pier by floating bridge, it's very close, you can watch the live action show 'Shu Road Prosperous Age' at night, and then take a boat to tour the Jialing River at night, it's beautiful. We took the Egret No. 1 the next day to revisit the Jialing River, which was another experience.
Leisure: Vinegar foot soak 10 yuan, ear picking, etc., there are many folk song bars in the ancient city, which feel very good.
Overall, Langzhong is a very leisurely place, the consumption is not high compared to other ancient towns, it's a place worth going to.
The Origin of Spring Festival· Celebrating New Year in Langzhong
Spring Festival is one of the most important festivals for Chinese people, and the origin of Spring Festival can be traced back to the Spring Festival elder· astronomer Luo Xiahong. More than two thousand years ago, Luo Xiahong created the 'Taichu Calendar' in Langzhong, which marked the beginning of the Spring Festival. At that time, Langzhong was one of the most developed regions in ancient astronomy.

Come to Langzhong to feel the wind of the Jialing River. Experience the slow life, a two-day tour of Langzhong Ancient City~ You must go to soak your feet in vinegar, it's too suitable to soak your feet for 10 yuan when you're tired from walking in the ancient city, the taste of beef cold noodles and pot helmet is good, but I don't know if it's the most authentic one, there are not many people at this moment, maybe because it's too hot△ The sad cold noodles are also okay, do local people or those who have been here have any recommendations or things to avoid?
This Spring Festival, these places must not be missed!

Have you thought about where to go for this Spring Festival?
Langzhong, a thousand-year-old city held back by its name
I first learned about Langzhong from an advertisement on CCTV:
"Lang, Langzhong, I'm waiting for you here~"
After hearing it many times, I recognized this character - "Lang", and knew this place - "Langzhong Ancient City".
🔥It is one of the four best-preserved ancient cities in China, along with 1⃣️Tongjiang Ancient City, 2⃣️Pingyao Ancient City, and 3⃣️Huizhou Ancient City;
🔥It is the 8⃣️th 5A-level scenic spot in Sichuan, besides 1⃣️Dujiangyan, 2⃣️Emeishan, 3⃣️Jiuzhaigou, 4⃣️Leshan, 5⃣️Huanglong, 6⃣️Beichuan, and 7⃣️Wenchuan;
🔥It is a city built according to the astronomical geomancy theory of the Tang Dynasty, and is revered by the people as the number one city of Feng Shui;
🔥It is the place in Sichuan with the most number one scholars in history. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was also the capital of Sichuan for nearly 20 years.
Because Luoxiahong, who made a significant contribution to the creation of the "Taichu Calendar", was from Langzhong, Langzhong was officially recognized as the hometown of Chinese New Year culture;
What's more, Langzhong Ancient City is one of the few ancient cities in China that does not charge admission.
Since Langzhong Ancient City has such a big background and does not charge admission, why is it not as famous as the three ancient cities of Lijiang, Pingyao and Huizhou that are listed with it? 🤔
I guess it has a lot to do with the difficulty of reading the character "Lang". Having a rare character in the name of a tourist spot is a tricky problem for a tourist city.
The name Langzhong was established by Qin in 314 BC, and it has been called Langzhong in China for more than 2300 years. Such an old name is not willing and impossible to change because of tourism, especially since "Lang" is a rare character, but it is a very good one.
"Green mountains surround the four sides, and beautiful water surrounds the three sides", which once attracted the poet Du Fu to write poems and the painter Wu Daozi to paint for it.
Outside the main street of the ancient city, there is hardly any commercial atmosphere. The ancient city residents who have lived here for generations are still living their original lives.
In the ancient city circle, although Langzhong Ancient City has a big background and a solid foundation, its fame is far behind. This may be related to its rare name, or it may be related to its lack of "literary atmosphere", or there may be other reasons...
But it is precisely because of this that it has become the most down-to-earth and "ancient" flavored ancient city. Go to Langzhong, your eyes and mouth will be full of return~~
Langzhong, a thousand-year-old city delayed by its name
Take a walk in Langzhong Ancient City, one of the four ignored ancient cities
By chance, I always wanted to come to Langzhong, but I was always a little bit off. There seems to be no special reason. There is not much splash on social media. Compared with other famous ancient cities, it is too unknown here.
But when I walk on the streets of Langzhong, my mood is as calm as the spring breeze. It is quiet and clean here, and there is no commercial atmosphere at all. The sunset, the afterglow of the sunset embellishes the pavilions of the ancient city, if not a fairyland, what is it?
I want to come and live again, and I have a bit of a sense of paradise. Have some coffee, enjoy the slow life, and accidentally enter the fairyland.
Every fleeting heartbeat is not easy, don't neglect it
A thousand miles of Jialing River can be seen at a glance, and the clear river surrounds the ancient city of Langzhong.
Langzhong is a place where you must come at least once in your life.
I have always thought that ancient cities and towns are similar. I went to the long-grassed Langzhong Ancient City during the holiday, and I really regretted it. I regretted not coming earlier.
We arrived at the ancient city at noon, parked the car outside the gate of the ancient city's champion, and checked into the Yunshu Inn in the ancient city that we had booked in advance. The innkeeper received us warmly, and the boss also gave me a fan. After putting away our luggage, we went out and started our tour of Langzhong.
How can you not wear ancient costumes when you come to the ancient city? Just across from the inn, I found a Hanfu Pavilion, Yiwu Qige Hanfeng Experience Pavilion. This is also my first time to experience Hanfu. There are thoughtful shop assistants to recommend and try on different styles of Hanfu. Finally, I chose a set that I was quite satisfied with, and we went out for a stroll after finishing our makeup.
During the holiday, there were more people on the main street. My family and I walked around the streets and alleys, found some less crowded alleys and took various photos. Although the weather was not good, fortunately it did not rain, and it was very leisurely to walk and take pictures.
After taking pictures in Hanfu, I immediately changed into my own clothes. Maybe I am a bit impatient. It was a bit uncomfortable to wear it for the first time, haha, but the photos are very good. We checked in at Zhongtian Tower, Zhang Fei Temple, Zhang Fei Beef Noodles, Fuyu Coffee and other crowded places, and still chose to slowly feel this city~
At more than eight o'clock in the evening, I took a boat on the Jialing River and watched the performance, which was really shocking. On the way back to the inn, I went with my family to experience the famous vinegar foot soak here. After a day of shopping, I was completely relaxed. It was too comfortable. My family fell asleep. At more than ten o'clock in the evening, there were fewer people in the alley. Maybe the night is more suitable for walking, the rhythm really slowed down~
The next morning, it started to rain lightly. We went to Baita Mountain opposite. It is said that you can see the whole Langzhong. The rainy day is hazy. Standing on the high place of Baita Mountain, the whole Langzhong is surrounded by the Jialing River. The ancient city that is looming, this is not an ancient city, it is simply a fairyland on earth.
