✍️About the itinerary
1️⃣No. 1 Road-Daxi Reservoir-Baoen Zen Temple-Walden Bookstore-Shitang No. 37 (the homestay where you stay)
2️⃣Shitang No. 37-Nanshan Bamboo Sea-Return
.
✅No. 1 Road (🎫🆓)
The 365km long Liyang No. 1🌈 Road, the undulating sections of the road, when no vehicles pass by, you can get a great road shot in a second.
✅Daxi Reservoir (🎫🆓)
Metasequoia, reeds, sky, lake water, the silent afternoon, gives people a cold and desolate sense of silence, but it is so wonderful.
✅Baoen Zen Temple (🎫🆓)
A Zen temple with more than 1500 years of history and full of Thai exoticism. The architectural layout is still traditional Chinese style, facing south to the north, and the main hall is built along the central axis.
✅Walden Bookstore (🎫🆓)
It seems to be an independent existence, in a quiet little village, the literary atmosphere that comes to your face as soon as you enter the door... the addictive kind.
✅Nanshan Bamboo Sea (🎫90)
Take the ground cable car to climb through the bamboo sea, the exciting lion dance performance in Shouwen Cultural Square, Bird Paradise, Jiming Village, the gorgeous and star-safe (when I arrived, the two little ones were sleeping, what a pity) panda house, all make people reluctant to leave.
.
🏘️About living
Stealing half a day of leisure, probably refers to the days of living in the 🏡Shitang No. 37 homestay. Feel the autumn in the poetic countryside, go to the 🌾More Fun farm for an interaction with the cute pets, cook tea and bake pizza around the stove, the bonfire party and outdoor movies at night, and by the way, soak in the unique hot spring in the mountains...
.
🍽️About eating
✅You can try the local food in Liyang
Three blacks: black rice, liver eggs, goose mushroom tofu
Three whites: fish head soup, white celery, white tea
✅Accidentally encountered a restaurant with feelings—Jiashun Farm Restaurant, fresh ingredients, the taste from nature, the favorite old hen soup and crispy rice.

Nanshan Bamboo Sea - Liyang - Changzhou
Nanshan Bamboo Sea - Nestled in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, where three provinces Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui border with one another, is a bamboo forest called Nanshan Bamboo Sea, which is a national reserve. It occupies an area of 2,500 hectares.
The bamboo forest is largely unknown to tourists, as the region, a national economic center from 2,000 years ago, boasts too many places of historical interest developed a long time ago. The travel guides' omission of the bamboo forest makes it an ideal fairyland to escape to.
The reserve consists of several valleys and peaks, among which the 500-meter Wudi Peak is the highest in the delta region, covered with dense bamboo forest. The Wudi Peak is accessible through an 800-meter ropeway or a meandering mountain path. It takes about 12 minutes to reach the top of it by ropeway, and one-and-half hours on foot.

Nanshan Bamboo Sea is located in the southern mountainous area of Fuyang City, Jiangsu Province. It has 35,000 mu of bamboo and is surrounded by mountains and mountains. It is dominated by the vast scenery of Bamboo Sea and has the reputation of Heavenly Mountain, Dreamy Bamboo Sea. This is the second time I have come to Nanshan Bamboo Sea. In the fresh air after the rain, the clouds between the green bamboo forests are lingering, and the greenery is floating in the clouds of smoke. The beauty of the hustle and bustle is accompanied by a peaceful environment. The landscape is like a poem. painting. Next to the mountain "Mirror Lake" in the scenic area, I met a woman in a white costume, riding a bamboo raft, floating between the beautiful scenery of the mountains, like a fairy, like a dream...
Nanshan Bamboo Sea, rewarding 10,000 acres of bamboo forest, looking for a life of tranquility
Nanshan Bamboo Seaview District is located in the Jiangsu-Suiyang junction of Susong, sitting on 35,000 acres of bamboo, contains the poetry and charm of the green mountains and green water, with "Paradise Nanshan , the dream of bamboo sea.

Local Umi rice, Tianmu Lake fish head, and Xiangyang zha liver are good taste.
Now spring, bring friends and family, go to this natural forest oxygen bar, find the green life
Fuyang Nanshan Zhuhai, a small attraction hit the card.
Yangyang's Nanshan Bamboo Sea
This is a natural oxygen bar. The scenic spot is very large. There is a small train station at the entrance, 30 yuan for one person to and from, you can take you to the cable car at the foot of the mountain. Walk about 50 minutes to arrive, the scenery is good along the way ~
cable car price is a person round-trip 80, this is a must sit, we usually go, lined up for about half an hour to sit up, if If you are on holiday, you have to wait at least two hours, so don't hurry on holidays. On the other side of the
cable car is the subway train. This must also be taken. The train leads to the Panda Pavilion. The most important thing is that the scenery on both sides of the train is very good. If you go, don't miss it.
Finally, regarding parking charges, if you have any conditions, I suggest you drive by yourself. The parking lot of the scenic spot is 15 yuan once. How long will it stop? hh/
summary: Nanshan Bamboo Sea is worth a visit
Often overlooked, Liyang in Jiangsu is a hidden gem of a small city
After mentioning underrated treasure cities for trips around the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area, I believe Liyang would definitely make the list.
It's off the beaten path and not crowded, offering a healing expanse of bamboo forests that form a sea of green. Boating on Tianmu Lake feels like you're traversing through a painting.
If you're still undecided about where to go for a holiday, Liyang is certainly a great choice!
🚗【About Transportation】:
🚄Take the high-speed train to "Liyang", and it's recommended to drive or rent a car for convenience.

1️⃣Nanshan Bamboo Sea
The vast bamboo forest and adorable red pandas are so healing, and it's wonderful to ride the little train through the bamboo sea.
2️⃣Pingqiao Stone Dam
The waterfall is stunning when it cascades down, especially when the water flow is abundant.
3️⃣Zheri Yicang
A must-visit spot in Liyang with a well-designed library, and now there's a free photography exhibition upstairs.
4️⃣Jellyfish Mountain
The scene is more stunning in person than in photos. The blue lake and green grasslands give a feeling akin to the white cliffs of a distant island, and it's also a good spot for camping, but safety first.
5️⃣Fangsuo Cultural Village
The treasure spot is the book tower at the entrance, which is full of design and great for photography, with a very photogenic blue tone.
6️⃣Baoyuan Zen Temple
Close to the cultural village, this ancient temple has a Southeast Asian style and is also worth a visit.
7️⃣Liyang Museum
A hidden treasure spot, just go up the stairs next to it to find a great view. If the weather is good, looking through the hole in the roof at the blue sky and clouds gives a magical anime-like feeling.

May Day Treasure Town Exploration—A Trip to Liyang
💕During the May Day holiday, don't want to get lost in the crowd? Follow me to Liyang, this small town is definitely your paradise to escape the world! 🏞️
🏛️Liyang Museum: As soon as you step inside, you are attracted by its unique design. Every corner is a perfect spot for taking photos. 📸
🛣️Highway 1: A road that takes you through the beautiful scenery of Liyang. From the Hobbit huts in Bieqiao Homeland to the most beautiful sky road, Goddess Lake, and then to the Heart of the Goddess, each place has its own story. But remember, although the Heart of the Goddess is beautiful, there are really a lot of people, and the photo success rate might be reduced. 🚗
🌳Nanshan Bamboo Sea: Although it's crowded during the holidays, the fresh air and the sea of green are definitely worth the wait in line. The Panda Pavilion is near the ground cable car, don't go the wrong way! 🐼
🏡Fang Suo Cultural Village: This place is a bit special, and there are tickets during the May Day period. But if you have nowhere to go at night, why not take a walk here? You might encounter unexpected surprises, like fireworks! 🎆
🥰Overall, Liyang, this treasure town, is really cost-effective! The food, accommodation, and transportation are all satisfying. Sisters who haven't set off yet, don't hesitate, grab the tail of the holiday and go on a trip on a whim! 💃
Half-Day Tour to Nanshan Bamboo Sea
Weather is clear, it is recommended to take sun protection measures.
It is not recommended to bring a stroller, as there are mostly stairs and steps, which are not very convenient - carrying a child is okay, but bringing a stroller might be a burden for both!
Perhaps because the rush of the May Day holiday has just passed, today we didn't have to queue for anything - we were able to enjoy all the attractions with ease.
We entered at 12:30, and after a long walk and buying tickets, we had to walk a bit further to get to the top! Then the fork in the road appeared.
To the left is a walking path, which takes about thirty to forty minutes. Along the way, there are bamboo rafts, a bird garden, flamingos, etc. - quite nice to stroll around. To the right is a small train, 30 yuan for a round trip, and both paths lead to another fork in the road - (I personally suggest walking this section, as it's mostly flat and not tiring, with good scenery). The next fork is at Shouxing Square, where you can take some photos and then start making choices. You can choose the ground cable car 🚡, because climbing to the top of the mountain is extremely tiring. We chose to take the cable car, 80 yuan for a round trip, and even then, there was still a climb that almost wore us out - you can imagine how tiring it would be without the cable car. Of course, those who want to challenge themselves can try it. A young man in our group who likes hiking reached the top in about an hour, while it took about an hour and a half for the female members.
Another fork leads to the Panda Pavilion, which can only be reached by the ground rail, 80 yuan for a round trip. We were too tired to go, but there was definitely enough time to visit the Panda Pavilion - we came down at only 2:30, with plenty of time to spare.
It is not recommended to buy things in the scenic area, as a young man in our group bought the same items outside for half the price. If you really want to buy something, consider purchasing it from the shops outside the scenic area!
Overall, it was quite good, and the farmhouses didn't disappoint, offering delicious food

Nanshan Bamboo Sea Trip
The highlight of Nanshan Bamboo Sea is to see the bamboo. There are 35,000 acres of lush bamboo here, and in summer, the temperature inside the bamboo sea scenic area can be about 5 degrees lower than that in the city. Anyway, as long as I am in this scenic area, all I can see is bamboo, which would even make a giant panda cry with envy.
Once you enter the park, you will see a tranquil lake, which is one of the photo spots for 'ID photos' of the scenic area.
The tranquil lake is also the starting point of the mini train, which can take you from the entrance of the scenic area to 'Shouxing Square'.
'Shouxing Square' is like a hub, and then you will find that the tour is divided into two routes: 'Historical and Cultural Area' and 'Wuyue Viewing Area'. These two routes can only be taken separately, but the design is quite reasonable. You can choose to take the ground cable car to the Panda Pavilion, or take the aerial cableway or walk to the first peak of Wuyue.
Comparatively speaking, I think the 'Historical and Cultural Area' route is more interesting. Because for shareholders from Jiangsu and Zhejiang, bamboo may not be so rare, but the small transportation in Nanshan Bamboo Sea is quite distinctive.
The ground cable car of Nanshan Bamboo Sea was once popular on the internet for a while, and it became a business card of Liyang tourism. After all, a bright red color passing through the lush green bamboo sea is very beautiful for photos. There are several carriages for the ground cable car, and shareholders who want to take photos are recommended to stand in the first carriage.
Taking the ground cable car, you can go up the mountain to 'Jiming Village'. There really is such a village, but now most of the buildings belong to the newly built antique commercial district. There are plenty of dining options, and because they are all operated by the scenic area with supervision, the consumption is not particularly high.
There is also a lion dance performance at the ancient stage of Jiming Village, with several shows a day. I didn't catch it because the lion's boss strictly abides by the labor law and finishes work on time.
After coming down from the ground cable car, you can continue to climb up.
Walking for about 10 minutes, you can reach the largest 'Bamboo Culture Park' in China.
The museum is bigger than I imagined, introducing the past and present of bamboo, and even the 'distant relatives' scattered around the world are mentioned, with a lot of information. And I am only interested in the recipe for braised bamboo shoots.
At the end of the Bamboo Culture Park is the 'Panda Pavilion', which is the most popular place on this route.
Inside, there are really two giant pandas, Hua Li and Xing An, who are two arrogant employees who can skive off work openly during their shifts and prefer to show their backsides to the visitors.
After visiting the Panda Pavilion, you can go down the mountain and take another route. 'Wuyue Viewing Area' offers the option of taking the aerial cableway up and down the mountain. You can also choose to walk up and down the mountain. You guys rushed up the mountain in 2h, which can be a reference for the distance and amount of exercise.
The top of the mountain is Wuyue's first peak at an altitude of 508 meters. As for why it's called 'first peak', it's because there are bamboos everywhere in the scenic area, so there's no need to add the bamboo radical to the name. The cable car is worth the money, firstly for saving leg power, and secondly, the scenery from the aerial cable car is indeed nice.
Climbing to the top, you can have a breathtaking view. If you take all the small transportation within the scenic area, it would take about 2h to enjoy the Nanshan Bamboo Sea scenic area. Besides the fact that the price of small transportation is indeed not cheap, it is also nice to come here on weekends to relax and breathe some fresh air.

A Two-Day Tour in Liyang
During the Qingming holiday, I took a trip to the beautiful small town of Liyang in the south of the Yangtze River. The scenery is pleasant, the air is fresh, and the surrounding attractions are surprisingly refreshing. On the Tea Island in the Tianmu Lake scenic area, I enjoyed the fun of tea picking and tasted the Tianmu Lake white tea, which is fragrant and refreshing. The Nanshan Bamboo Sea is a super natural oxygen bar. At the junction of three provinces, the bamboo sea was even more verdant and fresh with the drizzle when I went there. I wanted to capture a photo of the little train passing through the bamboo sea, but unfortunately, I didn't manage to. On the way down the mountain, I bought a bunch of fresh bamboo shoots sold by local villagers, which really made me happy. Let me also mention the Liyang Museum, which has a very special design sense; taking photos inside is quite unique and artistic. I will visit Liyang again because there are still many beautiful sights I haven't seen, leaving some regrets for the next time
I really regret not coming to Liyang sooner, it's so beautiful that it brought me to tears

🏨Accommodation
I stayed at the Yushui Hot Spring Zhuxigu Hotel, which is within walking distance from the scenic area and is surrounded by bamboo forests, as if living in a natural oxygen bar. In the evening, you can watch the sunset while soaking in the infinity pool, enjoying relaxation for both body and eyes.
-
♨️Hot Spring
After a day of fun, let the hotel's scenic shuttle take us to Yushui Hot Spring. Soaking in the hot spring in summer is also very comfortable, not hot at all, allowing the body to fully relax. There are also performances by ladies swimming around, soaking in the hot spring while watching the performance in the evening is simply too enjoyable!

🎋Nanshan Bamboo Sea:
A bamboo sea scenic area themed around 'Longevity as the Southern Mountains',
But what attracted me more was taking the 🚞mini train through the secret bamboo forest
To visit the Giant Panda Pavilion or take the mountain cable car to overlook the entire bamboo sea!
It's recommended to buy a combo ticket for a better experience~
.
🕋Liyang Museum:
A super cool museum with an architectural design,
You can follow the stairs to see a giant cave against the blue sky and white clouds.
It's like walking into a Hayao Miyazaki manga,
The exhibitions inside are also good, closed on Mondays
-
📚Fang Suo Fang Village:
A new-style village marked by the Tianmu Book Tower,
The hexagonal book tower spirals upwards with stairs, offering a panoramic view of the village
While retaining the grey walls and green tiles of the Jiangnan water towns, it incorporates modern design,
It looks great whether during the day or at night when 🌙 lights are on.
-
📿Bao'en Zen Temple
A lesser-known temple located by the shore of Tianmu Lake
The overall design blends Chinese temple and Thai temple art styles
The history even dates back to the Southern Dynasties' Liang period, great for photography!

Travel 📌tips:
🔸The attractions are not far from each other, you can take a tourist bus, but self-driving is more recommended
🔹The Nanshan Bamboo Sea scenic area is vast, it's suggested to reserve half a day or a full day for a visit
Shanghai to Liyang Independent Travel by Public Transport
Depart from Shanghai Long-Distance Bus Terminal in the morning by coach, with a ticket price of 89 yuan and a journey of 4 hours to reach Liyang Bus Terminal. Hotels can be chosen within the Tianmu Lake scenic area, which is convenient for visiting both Tianmu Lake and Nanshan Zhuhai. After arriving on the first day, you can go to the Liyang Museum to check in, which is free but requires a reservation on the platform. The unique exterior allows you to understand the history of Liyang's development. In the evening, you can choose to walk to Wanda Plaza for dinner, and then return to the hotel for a good rest. The next morning, set off for Nanshan Zhuhai. There is public transport directly to the destination, but it takes a long time, about an hour. It is recommended to take a taxi, which can save half the time, with the cost between 45-50 yuan. Purchase the tickets on Ctrip one day in advance, which is cheaper than buying at the scenic area. Upon entering the scenic area, you can take a small train to the cable car station or walk there, which generally takes about half an hour. Along the way, there is a small bird pavilion to visit, with scheduled performances every day. The scenic area is divided into two separate attractions. One is to take the cable car to reach the first peak of Wu Yue, and if you have the stamina, you can also hike up the mountain. This is also the junction of three provinces, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of Nanshan Zhuhai. The other is to take the popular ground rail to reach Jiming Village, visit the Bamboo Culture Museum and the Panda Pavilion. It is recommended to buy a joint ticket for 150 yuan. The whole tour is expected to take about five hours. For the return trip, you can take the No. 72 bus directly to Tianmu Lake scenic area at the entrance of the scenic area. If you have the time and energy, you can visit the Baoyan Zen Temple, which has a very strong Thai-style architecture. In the evening, you must have a Tianmu Lake specialty fish head pot, and then enjoy the Hantian hot springs to relieve the fatigue of the day, and have a good sleep. On the third day, sleep until you wake up naturally, you can stroll along Tianmu Lake, and after lunch, you can start your return trip. It is recommended to take the 11:40 coach, which is expected to arrive in Shanghai at 3:30 pm, to avoid the evening rush hour.
Paradise Nanshan, Dreamy Bamboo Sea—Jiangsu Liyang Nanshan Bamboo Sea Scenic Area
Nanshan Bamboo Sea is a national 5A-level scenic spot, located in Daibu Town, Liyang City, Jiangsu Province, at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, boasting 35,000 acres of lush bamboo. The ecological environment here is pleasant, with mountains and waters reflecting each other, creating a landscape as poetic and picturesque as it can be.
Here lies the Longevity Culture Zone, from the 'longevity' character hidden deep in the bamboo sea to the Nanshan longevity elder, and onto the Wanshou Hall, the culture of longevity is omnipresent. Upon arriving at the Longevity Culture Zone, one can see the grand statue of the God of Longevity, known as China's number one God of Longevity. When you come here, remember to pray for blessings and longevity for your family, to reflect on life, and to cleanse oneself of all vanities.
There is also the Wu Yue Di Yi Peak, by climbing up to the 508-meter-high peak, one can take in the panoramic view of the ten thousand acres of bamboo sea and the scenery of the three provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, truly appreciating the view 'where all the smaller hills look up to this one'. This place is the summit of Nanshan, where you can also ring the bell to pray for blessings, and personally experience the wonderful feeling of 'the bamboo sea bell tolls across three provinces'.
Moreover, there are tranquil lakes, ancient official roads, Bamboo Culture Museum, Panda Pavilion, and other attractions, enjoying the reputation of 'Paradise Nanshan, Dreamy Bamboo Sea'.
In Nanshan Bamboo Sea, you can also taste the most representative Liyang delicacies of 'Three Whites and Three Blacks', with the Three Whites being white celery, white tea, and fish head soup, and the Three Blacks being stuffed liver, black rice, and wild goose mushroom. In Liyang, order a bowl of white celery fish head soup, the freshest bamboo shoots, have a hearty meal, and drink a pot of bamboo leaf tea, which is extremely satisfying.

Nanshan Bamboo Sea
The train through the bamboo sea on a rainy day feels like a true experience of Liyang
The long-awaited trip to Liyang has finally been arranged❤️
Despite the drizzle all day, it added a poetic and picturesque charm, didn't it?😭
Especially the Nanshan Bamboo Sea and the hot springs here, with a fairyland-like mist swirling around, it seems as if you've entered the world of the swordsmen from 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'😲
Let me tell you about a few spots in Liyang that are particularly enjoyable on a rainy day❤️ ❤️
👉 👉 Nanshan Bamboo Sea
I recommend taking the small train-ground cable car to the historical and cultural district👀. Unlike the lively colors of a sunny day,
the cable car on a rainy day seems to travel back to the former Soviet Union, resembling the feel of a movie poster.
On a sunny day, there are lion dance performances and music at Jiming Village, and by the way, the handmade tofu pudding is really tasty😬. Walking along, you can visit various museums and see the adorable pandas.
The aerial tramway operates in both sunny and rainy weather, but if the rain is heavy, there will also be more fog on the mountain, so you can decide whether to go up depending on the weather.
For the section near Shouxing Square, I suggest walking down to see the stunning stream tracing camp❤️ and there are many birds too😲
After leaving the bamboo sea, stop by the Nanshan hot pot at the entrance for a warm meal😉.
Oh, and there's a tie-dye experience at the entrance of Zhuyin Residence, today I wore a horse-face skirt which was very fitting😲. It's also a lot of fun to try.
👉 👉 Yushui Hot Spring
If you still have time, you can go check out the Yushui Hot Spring.
Soaking in the hot spring on a rainy day is truly a unique experience😭. The rain falling on the spring water and the rising mist make you feel like you're ascending to immortality.

LiYang 3-day 2-night trip budget, fully enjoy the most beautiful ecological county town in Southern Jiangsu!
LiYang city is located at the southernmost part of Jiangsu, bordering Anhui, and only a 30-minute drive to Zhejiang. It is an important county-level city at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces, and also has the best ecological environment in the entire Southern Jiangsu region. I plan to spend 3 days and 2 nights in LiYang for a vacation, with a budget that is within the range of average consumer spending, hence I'm sharing it with everyone!
1. Ticket budget: Nanshan Bamboo Sea 80 yuan, Tianmu Lake Landscape Park 80 yuan, Yushui Hot Spring 238 yuan, land rail and small train 170 yuan, totaling 568 yuan.
2. Accommodation budget: Hotels near the Nanshan Bamboo Sea scenic area are slightly more expensive than those in LiYang city, but the prices are acceptable. As a resort hotel in the scenic area, it is still very affordable, with a nightly room rate of 270 yuan (including breakfast for two), totaling 540 yuan for two nights.
3. Dining budget: The dining cost level in the LiYang Tianmu Lake Nanshan Bamboo Sea tourist resort area is reasonable. The average consumption at a four-star hotel restaurant is about 95 yuan per person, and at an ordinary farmhouse restaurant, it is about 70 yuan per person. For 3 days and 2 nights, there are 5 main meals, with a total budget of 550 yuan.
4. Transportation budget: Direct bus from LiYang high-speed train station to Nanshan Bamboo Sea is 5 yuan, taxi from Nanshan Bamboo Sea to the hotel is 12 yuan, taxi from the hotel to Tianmu Lake scenic area is 60 yuan, taxi to Yushui Hot Spring is 12 yuan, totaling 178 yuan for a round trip.
The total budget for 3 days and 2 nights in LiYang is 568 yuan + 540 yuan + 550 yuan + 178 yuan = 1836 yuan.
