The facilities are old but kept clean.
The weather was bad on the day of our stay, so we are unsure of the location.
The open-air bath was broken and we were unable to use it, which was unfortunate.
I hadn't had high expectations as other people had said the food wasn't particularly good, but it was a buffet and there was a decent variety, and it was clear that the menu had been carefully thought out.
I particularly liked the breakfast, where you could compare two different types of rice, and the sweet potato soup.
The milk and yogurt were also rich and really delicious.
The hotel is conveniently located right next to the JR station, with direct access through the local products store, which was a huge convenience. The room quality felt akin to a 4-star standard, boasting a spacious bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. However, despite the decent room size, the layout was quite problematic; the table and chairs took up too much space, leaving little to no room for luggage. While most essential amenities were provided, specific items like makeup remover were missing. The mini-fridge didn't cool very well, and even with the air conditioning set to 24°C, the room remained uncomfortably warm, preventing a refreshing sleep. It's about a one-kilometer walk to the main street of the Kanto Festival.
The hotel is super easy to find: head straight out of Akita Station's West Exit, cross the pedestrian bridge on the second floor, and you'll descend right onto a pedestrian shopping street. Walk to the very end, and you're there. There's a pretty large 7-Eleven right downstairs. The room was a bit on the small side, but it was fully equipped with all the necessary amenities. The laundry facilities are located separately within the male and female public baths; I particularly liked that the women's laundry area requires a key card for entry, which is a great security feature. Akita Park is directly opposite.
Staff service is excellent.
Management pays attention to many detailed needs of guests.
Great food variety, and many local foods are presented. Foods are delicious too.
Onsen is excellent too.
The hotel near the Tazawako lake and it takes around 30 minutes to walk to the lake, make it a good alternative if you want to check out the lake but not staying there. The onsen water is okay but nothing compared to those when you go up to Nyuto. There are a few cherry trees outside the hotel and it is beautiful in May.
I have an acquaintance, so I came to Yokote to coincide with the Kamakura Festival.
Amenities and services are also great and I want to use them again.
Dormy Inn Akita boasts an excellent location, being very close to Akita Station. The distinctive sculpture at the hotel's main entrance caught my eye, though its meaning wasn't clear to me. The hotel is conveniently situated next to the Akita Museum of Art and directly opposite Akita Park, contributing to a wonderfully pleasant atmosphere.
This was my first time staying at a capsule hotel, so I was a bit worried about the cleanliness and security. However, there were small but lockable lockers, and the hotel was generally clean. I had a suitcase so I went back and forth between the locker and the resting area (there was a notice not to bring suitcases into the resting area), but I think it would be quite convenient for people with little luggage.
Sitting in the hotel lobby and looking at the snow outside the window is beautiful. The dinner is rich with abalone and Wagyu beef. It would be great if the service was more or less good. The hot spring is good and the outdoor scenery is beautiful.
This place is extraordinarily overpriced for what it is. I expected much more amenities and service.
Although the staff were friendly and courteous, the place was fairly bland. The onsen was mediocre and there were no refreshments afterwards unless you wanted to go to a vending machine. Even Dormy Inn provides refreshments after the onsen but at Towado Hotel having to pay for them and not even the nice ones is ridiculous when you have to pay so much to stay here. The same for the relaxation chair. It is coin-operated not complementary.
I would not recommend staying here if you’re looking for a luxury experience because although you pay for that, it’s definitely nowhere near that. Our Western style room was very basic, and it just didn’t have those special finishing touches I had hoped for.

AAlly2023We stayed two nights. It was a great experience. Room itself is good, bed is comfortable. Got onsen and free half portion of ramen and rice after 7:30pm, which is a bonus. Ramen is delicious. However, service for a part-time staff (a girl) was bad! This is the first time we experienced such bad service in Japan. First, her greeting was mean and rude, with no smile on her face and kind of ignoring the customer. Second, after we got the room key and get ready to take the elevator, we didn't know the way. She just kept ignoring us which a normal staff would show you the way to the elevator right after finished check-in. Lastly, after we entered into the room, we found out that the toilet seat was loosen. So we went down to the lobby to tell her about these. She was so unhelpful that she did not even want to come up to our room to see what happen, but just tild us to use the toilet in the lobby instead!
At the end, luckily there was another senior full time staff just on duty, we told him about this, and he immediately went up to our room to see what happen. Will give this senior staff a 5 star.
So other than that part-time staff (girl), all were pretty good.

GGuest UserWe had a lovely, relaxing time at Hotel Kan Raku. The room was a nice size for two people; the baths were hot and refreshing; breakfast was delicious; and the staff went above and beyond to ensure all patrons had a great time in their establishment.
We would definitely stay there again if/when we come back to Akita!
GGuest UserThe hotel facility is relatively good. However, the hotel policy seems to have a big problem.
We checked in the hotel at 7pm, they said our room rate was for check-in between 23:30~05:00 and that check-in other than this period will have a surcharge of
Yen $2000. At normal hotel booking, who would alert the check-in time is at midnight??!! OK, we assume we overlook this strange rule, we paid.
However, two days later we stay at the same brand hotel in Aomori, I clearly requested a non-smoking room at booking (as I did same for all hotels at the trip),
but the receptionist insisted that we didn't. They said they don't have a non-smoking room for us unless we pay Yen $2000 for additional charge. We don't
understand the game! Supposing all non-smoking rooms are at the non-smoking floor; if they have one, they should have given us free. If not, how can they
make one with the additional charge ?

GGuest UserThe hotel managers or receptionists were great, especially, the day receptionist! The housekeepers were also very nice and congenial. They keep the place clean. I also love the ”onsen”! Thank you guys!
AAlbert Alexandre AlexisAs luxurious as one can expect. Beautiful place in a secluded natural environment with lavish service and delicious food. The bath are very well prepared and the staff is extremely kind and attentive.
It is a hard ask but it would be nice to have some western options at breakfast. But of course this is a Japanese traditional inn yet these options would feel even more luxurious.
Some of the decoration feels a bit either dated, kitsch or not being harmonious, I think they need a redesign of the furnitures are it looks more like an assemblage than a harmonious selection of decoration and furnitures. It’s a little on the weird side even sometimes!
But the bedding is exceptional. You will have a great sleep at this stay!
AAnonymous UserThe lake view room is indeed a first-line lake view with a great view. The breakfast is good, the view is good, and the variety is not bad. But the Prince Hotel itself is still relatively small (I thought it was a big resort before and had wrong expectations). There are not many people walking on the plank road by the lake. There are many wasps in this season, so I don’t dare to explore it in depth. Overall, it feels more suitable for a one-day stay. We stayed for two nights and it was a bit boring. There is also no food and beverage around at night. We drove by ourselves and thought we could find food anyway. As a result, one night we looked around and found that it was closed (the one restaurant that was open on Google Maps happened to be closed that day, so we had to eat instant noodles). Maybe staying for one night and having breakfast and dinner at the hotel is the best choice.
