"This is really a hidden gem in Luxor! It’s on the quiet west bank and near to Valley of king, queen, nobles, artists! The Arabic style room, building and garden meet all my imagination about Tales from 1001 nights! The owner is such a kind lady. She will arrange cars and tours at very reasonable price! They also have the best food and coffee in Luxor! The menu changes every day!! All the staffs are also so kind and helpful! They will have new buildings by end of 2024. If I ever come back to Luxor, I will definitely stay here again and longer! My best memory in Egypt!"
TTanna_GubbI was a bit worried after seeing some negative reviews online before coming, but my actual experience far exceeded expectations. The front desk lady was very sweet; she prepared our room in advance and even upgraded us to a Nile view room. We immediately decided to extend our stay for another night to properly rest. This was the rare hotel where we stayed two consecutive nights during our trip to Egypt. In the morning, you can comfortably watch hot air balloons take off from the West Bank right from your balcony. We didn't book breakfast, but my friend had dinner at the hotel restaurant and said the food was good.
GGuest UserAlthough it is located slightly outside of downtown luxor, it was only about 15 mins walk to the board walk area and luxor temple.
There were lots of small supermarkets and local food options nearby within walking distance in the evening. (We noticed a lot of food places did not open u until about 3pm onwards). The local streets are very alive at night with vendors and food at reasonable prices.
Check in took a long time and the staff appeared to also be working on something else at the same time as processing our check in and did not seem to be too interested. When moving around the hotel and entry/exit at entrance, the door staff and security seem disinterested and would be nice to have just a welcoming smile or hello.
Overall, it was a good and comfortable stay and would recommend for anyone exploring luxor for a few days.
GGuest UserThe room facilities were quite good, and we even got complimentary fruit. The hotel environment itself is absolutely beautiful, right by the Nile River. In the evening, you can watch the feluccas and the sunset, which is lovely. However, because the hotel is so large, you do need to rely on their shuttle service. Be warned though, the shuttle can take a while to arrive, and local service can be a bit slow. So if you're in a hurry, definitely plan ahead! We couldn't wait and ended up pushing our luggage all the way to the front desk ourselves – it was quite tiring!
MMostafa AwadI must say that the hotel is really clean and warm, and you can sit down and make breakfast for us even if you haven't had breakfast yet. Although the location is a bit remote, the whole courtyard is really warm and clean, and the staff are very polite and professional. There are boys sweeping the floor every day, and they will stop when they see guests passing by, and continue after they pass by. It is really a thoughtful hotel.
XXiaoennaThe location is fantastic, directly facing the Nile. You get a direct view of the feluccas on the river and the hot air balloons on the opposite bank. Local drivers and carriage drivers all know this spot, and it's not far from the pier or Luxor Temple. The hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are also dated, but everything is functional and doesn't detract from the experience – it actually suits the ancient charm of the area. The hotel service is decent, though check-in can be slow, often taking over half an hour. The room size is comparable to a budget hotel in China, not a high-end hotel, which might impact your experience. However, the balcony is beautiful. It's lovely to sit there, enjoy the stunning view opposite, and have a drink. Breakfast is just average, nothing special.
KkaktucenokA budget hotel that wins points for its central location and amazing view of Luxor Temple. It's a perfect spot for accessing the Nile and local museums.
The reception staff were friendly, though the overall organization was lacking. We were asked for our room number four times at breakfast because they didn't have us registered correctly. The food is simple, and it would be an improvement to offer two eggs per person.
The room (416) had a couple of issues: a leaking sink pipe and a balcony door that wouldn't close properly. We asked to change rooms, but the other option was worse. For the price and location, it's fine for a single night, but don't expect a flawless stay.
MM293132****Highly recommend this hidden gem hotel in Luxor! The overall environment is clean and elegant with a super comfortable atmosphere. There are neatly arranged lounge chairs by the outdoor swimming pool, and lying on them to sunbathe in the afternoon is the perfect cure for travel fatigue.
The breakfast has a mind - boggling variety of options, with hot dishes, cold cuts, desserts and freshly squeezed juices all available, kick - starting your day full of vitality. Several in - house restaurants are also outstanding, allowing you to enjoy authentic delicacies without leaving the hotel.
The room details are well - thought - out. The provided safe allows you to store your personal valuables with peace of mind. The biggest surprise is the bedding—the mattress and pillows are so soft that you won’t want to get up once you lie down.
A special shout - out to Yasmin at the front desk! When I arrived at the hotel, it wasn’t yet the check - in time, but she kindly helped me check in early, enabling me to drop my luggage and rest sooner. It was such a thoughtful gesture.
It offers great value for money for a one - night stay. You definitely won’t regret choosing to stay here in Luxor. Truly recommended to everyone!
SStacyqingI booked a Nile view room, and overall it was pretty good. The only thing is I didn't see any hot air balloons for two days, which was a bit strange. The hotel has its own pier where you can enjoy the sunset on the Nile. The Thai restaurant on the first floor definitely caters to Chinese palates; we ate there three times, it was so delicious! The hotel breakfast was just okay, and the staff weren't very enthusiastic. I was a little surprised to see 'Happy Chinese New Year' right when I entered the lobby, possibly because it's been acquired by Huazhu Hotels Group.
RR2F2Location was great. Luxor temple, the bazaar and good restaurants all in walking distance. Breakfast was the best I've had in Egypt so far. It was nice sitting outside eating and looking at the Nile River. Room was good. I didn't like the hairdryer. It was basically useless as it'd take the entire night to dry your hair. Room was quiet, clean and bed was good. Overall a great stay. Would definitely stay there again.
GGuest UserOur stay at Sonesta St. George Hotel Luxor felt like a little escape into luxury. From the moment we arrived, everything just felt right—the elegant atmosphere, the warm welcome, and the stunning surroundings.
The room was spotless and comfortable, a perfect place to unwind after exploring Luxor. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always going the extra mile to make our stay special. We also had dinner at the restaurant for the BBQ, and it was absolutely delicious.
