HHannahtran2608I booked the hotel because I wanted to stay close to Buddha Stupa in Boudhanath and this is by far my best experience in Kathmandu. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk to the Stupa, but very quiet and private. There is an old monastery inside the hotel, and part of the profit from the hotel goes to support the monks in monastery. Morning yoga session is 8am to 9am led by a monk, but I always slept in so couldn’t make it (my fault!). Breakfast was delicious and I highly recommend the puri with potatoes and beans fillings. The hotel manager and staffs are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, which made the stay even more pleasant. Thank you all, it’s been a great experience staying Hotel Dolmaling. I would definitely come back here the next time I’m in Nepal!
DDeep1997I had a wonderful 8-day stay at Mercure Kathmandu Sukedhara Heights and it truly felt like a home away from home.
From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, professional, and consistent throughout my stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and welcoming—perfect for both relaxing and unwinding after a busy day.
A very special appreciation goes to the reception team, especially Alon and Shreesha. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, always greeting me with genuine warmth and taking care of any requests promptly and thoughtfully. Their kindness and attention to detail really made my experience stand out.
The hospitality here is exceptional, and it’s clear the team genuinely cares about their guests. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again.
GGuest UserThe staff here is incredibly helpful and attentive to my needs. They offer free luggage storage and drop-off services at the airport. Even when I was about to take off, they wished me good luck with a small scarf. I highly recommend staying here. I think I’ll be staying here again when I travel to Kathmandu next time.
NNenanMy flight arrived in Kathmandu at 10 PM, and immigration took forever, so I didn't get out of the airport until almost 11 PM. I had emailed the hotel in advance to request an airport pick-up. I honestly thought no one would be there given how late it was and the lack of a contact number, but I saw my name card among the crowd waiting for cars at the exit. As a first-time visitor, this was such a pleasant and heartwarming surprise!
The car took me to the hotel, which is located in the bustling, central Thamel area. Right downstairs, there's a 'Chengdu Skewers' restaurant. The hotel itself is one of the tallest buildings in the vicinity and boasts a glass-enclosed restaurant on the 12th-floor rooftop, with a pool and spa on the 11th floor – quite a bold design! Breakfast was good, and the service was attentive. The location is convenient; a rickshaw takes just 6 minutes to Durbar Square.
The room size was adequate, but I was a bit disappointed to only get a room on the 4th floor after requesting a high-floor room. Also, the bathroom had a strong, foul odor that permeated the room even with the bathroom door closed. This backflow smell seems to be related to the plumbing and hygiene and definitely needs improvement. Other than that, everything else was great!

GGuest UserI stayed at Hotel Barahi Kathmandu for three nights and had an overall pleasant experience.
The hotel is modern, clean, and conveniently located, making it easy to explore the city. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Special thanks to Nicha for her excellent service and hospitality.
The breakfast was good and met expectations, although the menu remained largely the same throughout my stay. A little more variety would be appreciated for guests staying multiple nights.
The gym is well-maintained but quite small, and the operating hours are somewhat limited. The swimming pool is attractive, though it offers limited privacy as it is located next to the restaurant area.
Due to my late check-in, I was initially assigned a room on the top floor. The room felt smaller and less comfortable than expected, and I experienced issues with the hot and cold water control. Fortunately, the staff proactively offered a room change, and I was later moved to a room on the fourth floor, which was much more spacious, comfortable, and better equipped.
The location is one of the hotel’s strongest points, although traffic noise from the nearby intersection can sometimes be noticeable.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the staff’s professionalism and willingness to resolve issues. With its convenient location, clean facilities, and excellent service, I would recommend Hotel Barahi Kathmandu.
GGuest UserThe hotel service is very professional, the breakfast is rich, and the front desk service is warm and thoughtful. When I asked for water, it was delivered quickly. There is also a hair dryer in the hotel, and the hot water for bathing is very comfortable.
Many Chinese people go to other places to find Chinese food, but they find that the most authentic Chinese food is on the ninth floor above the hotel. And the chocolate brownie here is very authentic. It was supposed to be eaten with ice cream, but I asked for hot ice cream, and the hotel immediately made hot ice cream. There is the largest farmer's market in Kathmandu next to the hotel, and 6 big apples cost less than 20 yuan. You can buy all kinds of vegetables and fruits here.
Because Kathmandu is often congested, if you connect with a flight, the hotel is very close to the airport, which is another big advantage.
CCostantino85My stay at the Marriott was simply outstanding from start to finish.
The service was truly impeccable — professional, attentive, and flawlessly organized at every moment. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and exceptionally comfortable, offering a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax after a long day.
The breakfast was excellent and abundant, with a wide variety of high-quality options to suit every preference. The restaurants were equally impressive, serving delicious dishes prepared with care and refinement.
I was also particularly grateful for the thoughtful gesture of being offered a complimentary two-hour late checkout, which made my departure day far more relaxed. In addition, the hotel kindly granted me access to the lounge with its generous buffet while I was waiting for my evening flight — a level of hospitality that truly reflects their commitment to guest comfort.
What truly elevated the entire experience was the extraordinary courtesy, kindness, and availability of every single staff member. Their genuine warmth and dedication made me feel valued throughout my stay. Each of them deserves recognition — they would all merit an award for their professionalism and hospitality.
An exceptional property that sets a benchmark for excellence. I would gladly return.
HHasenaOne of the finest properties in Nepal — perfect location, beautiful ambience, and excellent amenities. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to accommodate every request. We stayed for a birthday celebration, and their thoughtful service made it truly special. If you’re looking to create unforgettable memories, this 5-star resort is the place to be.
