Hotels With Pools in Zanzibar South Region, Tanzania

In order to transfer and catch up on jet lag, I chose this relatively new hotel with free pick-up and drop-off. Look at the photos. It is much more expensive than ordinary hotels at the airport, but it is actually older. The room has no view and it takes 20 minutes for the bath water to heat up. Early check-in for an early flight will cost an additional US$70, which is more. You have to pay for a bottle of water...the only advantage is free pick-up and delivery

Pros: The hotel is in a good location, the sunset is beautiful, the plants are beautiful, like a big garden. The soaj is very comfortable, facing the sea. Cons: The room facilities are a bit old, the service is average, the mini bar and sunset wine in the room are charged items, the signs are not clear, we thought they were free items, and the cost of calling a taxi for the guests is very high. Overall evaluation: The hotel is average, not worth the price of more than 3,000, and the cost performance is not high.

My stay at Samawa Living was absolutely phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible sense of warmth and care from the staff. As a solo traveller, I was made to feel so safe and seen, which made the experience even more special. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’d like to give a special thanks to Kadogo, Hashimu, Baby, Asha, and the rest of the amazing team who went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. Their genuine kindness and attentive service stood out in every interaction. The location of the hotel was perfect – close to the iconic Paje Beach, with convenient access via buggy, so I could enjoy the beauty of the area while still retreating to the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the hotel. The boho vibes of Samawa Living were stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed to create a cosy and serene environment. From the delicious meals to the immaculate rooms and tranquil ambience, everything about Samawa Living exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return! If you’re looking for a safe, stylish, and welcoming place to stay in the Paje area, I highly recommend it.

This is my second trip to Marea (previously under another name but with the same owners). I only want to talk about how much I like it if you all promise not to book in for the same weeks that I visit again. It’s quiet, which I love, but within walking distance of busier Paje. The rooms are clean, well-sized, have aircon, fans and cute balconies. Some of the rooms have just been redesigned, and I know there are more upgrades in the works. It has a wonderful Neapolitan restaurant, which is helpful because you don’t ever feel like you *need* to hunt for other food. It has a perfectly sized pool which never feels crowded, and not being in the centre of the resort, doesn’t come with lots of eyes gazing in your direction. Most of all, the staff are fantastic. They always have a smile and a kind word. Service is good and easy. It’s a great find for those looking for a boutique family run resort that also doesn’t break the bank.

Our stay at Ycona Zanzibar was absolutely incredible. The level of customer service was outstanding from start to finish. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. Any time something wasn’t available, they would find a way to make it up to us with something even better. The entire team was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and caring. They represented the warmth and hospitality of the Zanzibari people in such a positive way, and they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The resort itself was beautiful, luxurious, and had a very upscale feel while still being comfortable and relaxing. The food was also excellent, with plenty of delicious options throughout our stay. Thank you to the entire Ycona team for making our honeymoon so memorable. We would gladly return and highly recommend Ycona to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

It’s my first time in Zanzibar, I spent two nights at this hotel and a night in another hotel, all I can say is that this hotel is wonderful, rooms are clean, food is nice and above all the staffs are lovely, very friendly and helpful, I’ve been to many hotels in different countries but I can give a high thumb for the staffs of Toa hotel, The General Manager, Lucas that received me upon arrival and the best of all The Front Desk Manager ESTHER, thanks a lot for the hibiscus Juice the day I arrived and the last cup you gave me before I leave, you never knew but it’s my best and I’ll come back for it again in sha Allah. You gave me free wine lucky I don’t drink alcohol I had to return it back to you, thank you so much and I’ll recommend thousands to use your hotel if I have to and I’m sure you’ll never let them down. The Japanese hub was delicious, the cave wasn't, the view was nice, not many people, but I vomited badly on the last day, the buffet restaurant was full of flies, I suspect this is the reason, the restaurant's hygiene needs to be improved. (80% of the buffets that were opened had flies flying around, lots of them)

This was such a nice stay. Starting with the staff which was so kind, helpful and attended to any queries quickly. The place itself is stunning and I loved my room, I just wish there was a big mirror in the room so I could check my fits. They were very big on cleanliness and attention to detail. I would go back there anytime and it is just a 5min walk to the beach, near bento and an atm. The breakfast was also very good. Definitely a 100/10 just on the staff alone❣️ They even got me a hairdryer. The room smelled amazing with the lemongrass. In the room there was also a beach bag with a towel in. It was amazing. The only thing I didn't expect is that they charged me 2dollars city tax for every night I stayed there which was a bit unexpected for me.
