Philadelphia City Hall Review

A magnificent building is a landmark in Philadelphia. Philadelphia City Hall is located at the intersection of Broad St and Market St, the geometric center of Philadelphia City. It has been a public square since Philadelphia was founded in 1682 until the city hall was established in 1871. The city hall, 167 meters high, was the world's tallest building when it was built in 1901, and remains the world's tallest city hall building until 1908. A bronze statue of William Penn, the founder of Philadelphia, stands on the roof of the Philadelphia City Hall of Government. At first, Philadelphia stipulated that the height of the building should not be higher than that of the bronze statue. Later, due to the need of municipal development, it had to deceive itself that the old Penn "invisible" on the back of the bronze statue could be built high-rise buildings, so today the east side of the building still maintains its primitive style, while the west side has a series of skyscrapers. If you think of the plan of visiting the whole Philadelphia on the top floor of the building, you must call in advance to make an appointment. We were forced to cancel the plan of going to the top of the tower because there were more tourists when we went. It is a pity that we had to make an appointment one day in advance to cancel the plan of going to the top of the tower. In addition, the municipal building also has a guided tour, and it is also recommended to make an appointment in advance. Unfortunately, the day we went, the top of the tower was closed because of bad weather. We could only see the scenery downstairs and enjoy the magnificent building and beautiful relief from far to near.
