It's like being transported both back in time and to Germany. St. Michael's is situated in a large square and surrounded with other Germanic architecture. It has a surreal and quaint feel to it and one can be forgiven for forgeting that one is in China. The cathedral stand some 56m tall and was opened in 1934, the same year Hitler was confirmed as sole leader of Germany. Amongst the many people visiting the cathedral, one can still get a sense of serenity inside this magnificent building.
