The hotel is great, staff are impeccable in their attentiveness to the guest. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding, with an abundance of choices catered to satisfy every taste. The pool and gym are also fantastic, with the added convenience of being open 24/7, to put in an early morning workout. Spacious and very well equipped and maintained.
However, our stay was not without faults and there are definitely some things management needs to address:
- the noise from the elevator automatic announcements is absurd! the ”doors opening/closing” alerts are constant and audible from neighboring floors as well as your own.If you stay in a room numbered xx15 or xx16, be advised you will not have a pleasant time - we asked to change rooms immediately as soon as we realized this.
- elevators can be SLOW, magma slow. it can take a long time to move around if you are staying in a higher floor. We stayed for 2 nights and during that period 2 separate elevators were down for maintenance. It took us a total of 15 minutes to move from one floor to the other, after getting our room changed (for reasons stated above) and new keycards.
- the level from street noise audible in the room is just inadmissible at a supposed 5-star hotel level, at least in the rooms facing the main road. These rooms have, inexplicably, a single pane of glass and very tall windows, which makes soundproofing pretty much nonexistent - mat rempit bikes racing in the dead of night, the call to prayer blasting from the loudspeakers of the mosque nearby before 6am, drilling from the construction site nearby, and other nuisances that definitely disturbed my sleep.
Love it love it love it. I got a view to kill for. The service is great, check in was smooth, the staffs are friendly and professional. It’s a central area so main tourist attraction like Chulia street, Hin Bus Depot, Chew Jetty are walkable distance. I walk alone in midnight from chulia street and it’s pretty safe. Shopping malls are near by so can easily access. Breakfast was good. But I think the pool area can be improved to look lively. It’s pretty dull so I didn’t even go for swimming. Over all, this is definitely the place I will recommend and will stay again next time.
The most memorable stay for the year 2025 for me and my husband.
We originally stayed from 26 November - 28 November 2025 and planned to stay somewhere else on 29 November.
We were so impressed and touched by our experience staying here that we decided to come back on 29 November and finally checking out on 1 December 2025.
So that makes our stay with DoubleTree By Hilton Penang 4 nights in total.
First of all, many thanks to Reservation Agent Mr Dylan Chow for his support over email conversation to allow my husband to have my vehicle parked at the disabled parking lot right in front of the lobby in consideration that he’s physically disabled.
However, there seems to be lapse in communication when we arrived around 3:30 pm on 26 November when the guard / concierge initially refused to let us park at the disabled lot due to the policy only registered disabled driver is allowed, despite the fact that my husband has provided our vehicle details to Mr Dylan in his email 2 days prior. After clarifying with the guard and concierge then we were allowed to park our vehicle.
However, subsequent days followed were smooth, no one was stopping us from using the disabled parking lot right until our very last day on 1 December 2025.
Big gratitude to the hotel staff for providing complimentary decoration for our room after it have been made known that we were staying there to commemorate our wedding anniversary.
Throughout our stays, all the hotel team members were polite, kind and courteous to us.
We loved our rooms so much - Room 530 on our first stay and Room 340 on our second stay.
We also want to express our gratitude to support agent Syida for her excellent service rendered toward us. Not to forget all the cleaners, concierge, the guards and restaurant crews especially Mr Raj and Mr Kimi for the wonderful experience we had during our private romantic dinner on our last night.
To sum it up, next time we are in Penang, we will make sure that we are staying at DoubleTree by Hilton, Penang. Thank You!

Nice, clean, affordable, comfortable and close to city and close to great places and food, amenities should also include toothbrushes set too,it would be a great addition
Our family had a wonderful stay at Lexis Suites Penang! The room was very spacious and we absolutely loved the private pool — perfect for relaxing after a day out. There are fun family activities on the 8th floor like table tennis, which the kids really enjoyed.
Just outside the hotel, there’s a Chinese seafood restaurant that serves delicious food at affordable prices, plus you get to enjoy an amazing sunset view while dining — highly recommended!
The hotel also provides a free shuttle to Queensbay Mall, but do note you need to book it one day in advance (we missed it because this wasn’t communicated clearly).
Overall, a great family getaway, and it’s very convenient — just about 10 minutes from the airport!
Among the best hotels you can get in the Butterworth area. Truly 5 star - excellent service, clean rooms and not too far away from the train station and ferry terminal to Penang Island.
Pearl View Hotel offers a simple and pleasant stay, with normal cleanliness standards. The surrounding area is convenient, with nearby food stalls that offer easy dining options. There’s nothing particularly surprising about the hotel, but it provides an average experience at a reasonable price. Perfect for those looking for a no-frills, budget-friendly place to stay.
The pillows had a faint smell of head grease, but everything else was fine. The loft suite wasn't very convenient, as you had to go downstairs to use the restroom. However, the free drinks and snacks provided by the hotel were great, and there was even a complimentary bottle of red wine, which was a shame since I don't drink.
We had a really good stay at GHotel. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was tasty with a nice variety of options. The location is super convenient, lots of restaurants and food choices around, plus shopping just nearby. The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. Overall, a great experience and definitely a place I’d stay at again!
Extremely satisfied! I've had my eye on this hotel for a long time and finally got to check it out.
I think it's a must-stay hotel when visiting Penang. It's incredibly photogenic with fantastic views, perfect for anyone who loves taking pictures.
The bed was quite comfortable. Even though it's an antique hotel, its long history doesn't make it feel old or worn; on the contrary, it has a lot of character. The Heritage Wing is indeed excellent. There's an infinity pool, I believe, in the Victory Annexe, which is also great for photos. Guests staying in the Heritage Wing can access the Victory Annexe, but not vice-versa, so I highly recommend booking the Heritage Wing to enjoy both areas' services.
Breakfast: There are three breakfast options. I had the à la carte breakfast exclusive to the Heritage Wing. The taste was just okay, but the ambiance and service were both very good.
Accommodation: The bed was very clean and comfortable, quite soft. Having stayed in many five-star hotels, I'd say the bed here is exceptionally comfortable.
Suggestion for the hotel: In the future, perhaps you could arrange for some observant staff to help with luggage at the entrance.

RRacLimAngsana is always our preferred choice whenever we are back to Penang! It never disappoints us and this time we get to watch the fire show and a surprise fireworks! The view is spectacular and the staff is friendly! The room is clean and the breakfast is delicious too!

VVivian HingThis was my third stay Park Royal penang resort, and once again, everything exceeded my expectations. The staff are always friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home every time I visit. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed, providing the perfect place to relax after a long day. I also enjoyed the breakfast. It’s clear why I keep coming back—consistent service, great facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend

MMyamuzThe resort is really nice and the room was comfortable but the service was a bit disappointing. When I checked out, I waited for the room inspection and the staff told me everything was okay. Around 15 minutes later they called and said there was an oil stain. Fine, I accepted it and paid.
But then at 4pm, they called again saying a pillow was missing. Honestly, if I really took the pillow, the bellboy who helped carry my things to the car would’ve noticed. And my luggage wasn’t even big enough to fit a pillow.
Stuff like this should be checked properly during checkout, not hours later. Hope they improve their process.
MM360499****Pros: Great environment, excellent location, and spacious rooms. The hotel is right on Batu Ferringhi Beach, and just a short walk to the left along the beach, you'll find restaurants, water sports shops, and convenience stores – all very convenient and well-equipped. We arrived late in the afternoon, and I think we might have gotten an upgrade because the room felt a bit bigger than what we originally booked.
Cons: When we checked in, the hotel was hosting a wedding (which, looking at the facilities, seems to be a regular occurrence). Unlike in China, the banquet continued quite late into the night, making it a bit noisy. Also, the hotel itself isn't very large. It's more suitable for staying overnight after exploring and sightseeing during the day, rather than for a resort-style vacation where you spend a lot of time on-site.

CCordyVery good services provided by every staff in the hotel. Break fast is good with many choice and seafood buffet at Friday/Saturday night is good too but bit slow in restock the seafood. Room is spacious but view not very good as booked the sea view but the view is blocked by trees. Asked to change a room and reception also happy to assist and bring us to check the room before change
