Highlights: Yamdrok Lake is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. It is located in the northern Himalayas at an altitude of 4441 m. It is a large habitat for birds, which migrate here from the north during winter. Common species include swans, pigeons, ducks, osprey, and bar-headed geese. The road from Gambala Mountain has a number of viewpoints and offers spectacular views over the lake.
