Rustic bystreet
Tonbaibei wall itself is not something special. It is seen in many locations in the township of Arita. However, bystreet in Uchiyama district in Arita is really charming paths for promenade.
Interesting looking at the brick work, and the ceramic museum at the start is well worthwhile. Lovely lady that runs it. It is a shame they don't have more cafes and shops open, to make it a bit more ...
Enjoy the walk but not too much to see. Most shop were closed already before 5 and some of them was not even open. Can do if you have lots of time in Arita.
Old walls built to hide their secret ceramic processes. I believe the walk to the wall through old historic buildings is more interesting than the actual walls.

Good walk to see what Arita was like

Back street quietness
The houses give a good impression of rural Japan. At some parts even of rural parts in previous days. Good for a stroll.
