Church Of Sea

Although I am not a religious person or a student of architecture, I will be deeply moved by the design of Ando Zhongxiong. Entering the church in the sea, you can feel the unique sense of sacredness and get baptism of the soul.

So far, Tayyong Ando has designed four churches: the Wind Church in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, the Water Church in Hokkaido, the Light Church in Izuki City, Osaka Prefecture, and the Sea Church in Awajima Island, Hyogo Prefecture. -The church of the sea is located on the dream stage of Awajima Island. There are almost no people on weekdays. It is easy to ignore the corner of the second floor along the instructions, but the concrete walls of the surrounding corridors make people immediately recognize the architectural style. Continue along the quiet corridor of white and gray to a corner, push open the open door, and enter you will see a huge cross in the center of the church, but not a general physical cross, but refracted through the natural light of the ceiling. -Sitting here quietly and enjoying it for a long time, I was very touched that the cross in front of me was like a gift from the sky and nature, allowing myself to enjoy this long time of rare tranquility. Looking up and found that the two crosses were connected together, I had to marvel that Ando Zhongxiong's design for light and shadow was in place. And the carpet in the middle of the sea church for newcomers was blue, and it would reflect the blue like sea water, which was very special. - White flowers were set on both sides, forming a beautiful picture, and two chairs beside the podium appeared very comfortable, unable to help recording all this, quiet and solemn. Walk up the stairs, to the roof of the church to find all the answers here, connected to the sea, the glass cross seems very simple, but like life, to observe carefully to understand the extraordinary. - New couples here can listen to beautiful bells and get blessed from nature. This arranged trip to the Church of the Sea was very satisfying and if you have time to come to Awajima, don't miss it all.
