If you wanna experience the great wall, good option for you is to visit Badaling. You may take a bus going to this location. Dont worry, fare is just cheap. Make sure to come on normal days and not on holiday or else it will be a hassle to travel with thousands of people. Be ready to climb flight of stairs. Visiting the Great Wall of China definitely feels like a milestone. You read so much about this world’s heritage site, that experiencing it feels beyond anything you can dream off. The Badaling section of the Great Wall is the most popular, dates from Ming dynasty and its highest point is 1015m (Beibalou). Yanqing county is located 80km away from Beijing downtown. There are few stores and restaurants in the base of the Wall, Subway can be the easiest option considering you are about to walk for hours. You can reach the summit by walking or taking a cable car. Not a hero until you reach the Great Wall, finally climbed up the Great Wall today!!! We took a slide car to and from the Great Wall, the experience of the slide car was also good, the ride time was faster than I imagined. The incline going up felt like 70 to 80 degrees, the whole journey was covered so you don't have to worry about the sun, coming down there was a short open-air section, but there was no incline at all, just a few left and right turns, it felt a bit like a roller coaster. The height and slope of all the stairs on the Great Wall are different after going up, some slopes feel like 70 80 degrees, so everyone should act according to their ability, it's really cool after going up even though the sun is very big

I chose to go to the Great Wall of Badaling by Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail on a clear morning in winter. When the train slowly left Beijing North Station, the scenery outside the window gradually became vast and broad. Soon, I arrived at the Great Wall of Badaling Station. The platform is about 1.8 kilometers away from the scenic area. You can choose to walk or take a free shuttle bus to the entrance of the scenic area. I chose to walk, wanting to feel the atmosphere of this ancient place more authentically. Entering the scenic area, the first thing that caught my eye was the tall and solid enemy towers. They are distributed on the ridge in a staggered manner, as if showing the grandeur and craftsmanship of ancient engineering. I walked along the city wall and felt the heaviness and solemnity of history. Every stone, every brick seam, tells the vicissitudes and changes of the years.
