Hidden cherry blossom spot
Original Text
Like Hakodate Hachimangu, it is a shrine built at the foot of Mt. Hakodate. However, it is not as magnificent as Hakodate Hachimangu, and only a small shrine is built at the end of the approach to the steep slope. The precincts were not well maintained and it had a lonely atmosphere. The main shrine is integrated with the hall of worship, and it was impressive that the worship continued straight from the roof. The location is easy to understand, and when you get off the yajito electric stop, you go to the sea side opposite to hachimangu shrine, and if you hit it, you can reach it if you go south ...
Although it is a city, there is a fishing port and it seems that it was a fisherman town in the old days.

The name of Sumiyoshi Town is remembered as the fireplace in the Hakodate Great Fire of Showa 9. There is a shrine on the steep slope of Mt. Hakodate, and there is also a Sumiyoshi fishing port near the sea, and it is an area where the atmosphere of one of the few fishermen towns in the center of Hakodate remains slightly.
I stopped by on the way back from seeing Cape Tachimachi. It seems to be a shrine with beautiful cherry blossoms, but it was a very ordinary small shrine in mid-October without autumn leaves. I went by car, but I might be worried about the slope on foot.
The cherry blossom tunnel and the concrete torii look beautiful.

I happened to find it on the way to Cape Tachimachi. The cherry blossom tunnel was very beautiful, and it was very beautiful waiting for the concrete torii gate. What looks good in the photo is that you enter the torii gate from the bottom of the slope, but it is beautiful because there is a tunnel of cherry blossoms. However, it is difficult to take pictures, but if you look down from the shrine on the slope, you can see the city of Hakodate from between the cherry blossoms and it is beautiful. It is a little-known spot that is not listed on the tourist map.
It is about a 10-minute walk from the Yajito tram stop, the end point of Hakodate tram, toward Cape Tachimachi. A shrine in Sumiyoshi Town at the foot of Mt. Hakodate. Jurojin is enshrined as one of the seven lucky gods of Mt. Hakodate. Yoshino cherry blossoms are planted along the approach to the shrine, and it is also famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot. There are no double cherry blossoms, so you can't see dark pink flowers. There are many places where you can see double cherry blossoms in the cherry blossoms, but this is Yoshino cherry blossoms. A temporary hall was built on the site of a shrine in Sumiyoshi Town and Miyoshi Shrine. Miyoshi God ...

A small shrine.
