The General Mansion on the banks of the Meilun River in Hualien City is a Japanese officer's dormitory during the Japanese rule period, and is also the most complete Japanese-style building in Hualien City, representing Taiwan's cultural background during the Japanese rule period. Because of the influence of this history, many cultures in Taiwan can also see the shadow of Japanese history and culture.
