The Danjielin Temple on the edge of the Jokhang Temple Square is one of the four major forests in Lhasa. The four major forests refer to the four living Buddhas in Lhasa during the Qing Dynasty, namely Danjielin, Cemenlin, Gongdelin and Xidelin. Danjielin Temple was built in 1762 and was given its name by Qianlong. It is the earliest and largest of the four forests. The murals in the temple are brown red bottoms and gold lines, which are quite distinctive.
Danjielin Temple is the genus of Sanye Temple and belongs to the Ningma Temple. I found Danjielin Temple from the alley opposite the Qinggang Qiongtian Tea House on Tibetan Hospital Road. I found that it was not like a temple, but more like an ordinary house. In addition to the Hada and butter that are offered to Danjielin Temple, you can also bring barley wine or liquor. Because it is a temple of Sanye Temple, the incense of Danjielin Temple has been very strong. Many believers who cannot go to Sanye Temple because of the distance will choose to worship here. The Shuangxiu statue of Puxian Bodhisattva is very strange, the body is composed of blue and white, quite modern, this double statue is almost a must-see for every foreign visitor.
Dan Jielin, with Cemenlin, Xidelin and Gong Delin on the west side of the three lanes of Cemenlin on Beijing East Road, and known as the four major forests of Lhasa, is second only to the three major temples in Tibetan Buddhism. There are no tickets here, there are not many tourists, and most of them are Tibetans who worship.
I don't know what gods are worshipped here, but I feel very fashionable. There are few people. The chanter is also very focused on the incense.
