We had a great time in the early morning on weekday at the park. Yes, it's a zoo but animals look in very good shape, healthy and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Vitoria fro...
No way to treat a creature!!!
Do not visit this zoo.Animals are in an awful condition.Cages are too small and the smell of the poor dying creatures is disgusting.Save your money and enjoy Rio's incredible music scene.
Poor animal handling
This institution is involved in a big scandal for illegal import of 18 free-living giraffes from South Africa, plus keeping the remaining 15 (3 died on their first day after arrival!) in horrible cond...
waste of time
There is no much to see and maybe they call it a zoo because it has only one lonely sad baby elephant, one lion and one tiger and the rest are monkeys which they are everywhere in Rio and some snakes....

If you like animals that are not from this part of the world go and visit the museum, the macaws are adorable.
