Xita, also known as Xita Yanshou Temple, is located on Xita Street in Heping District, Shenyang. Xita was built in the fifth year of Chongde (1640) and was completed in the second year of Shunzhi. Due to excessive damage, Xita was demolished in 1968. During the demolition of Xita, an underground palace was discovered, and a batch of precious cultural relics including Buddha statues were unearthed. In 1998, in order to restore one of the 'Eight Sceneries of Shengjing', Xita and Yanshou Temple, the Shenyang Construction Committee raised a special fund of 30 million yuan to rebuild Xita in its original form on the original site. After more than three months of intense construction, it was completed on November 13. The rebuilt Xita is 26.33 meters high and the base covers an area of 256 square meters.
