Lata Stone Fortress

Lata stone fort looks like a male lion from a distance, so its original name is also called "Lion Rock", located in Gongbei Fort Mountain, is both a customs site and a Fort site. After losing military control of Macau in the First Opium War, the Qing government built a Lata stone fort in 1841 and sent troops to guard the gates and manage the gates. On August 22, 1849, the gates were assassinated in Longtian Village. On the 25th, the Australian and Portuguese authorities, with the support of Britain, France and the United States, stormed the gate area and seized the Lata stone fort. In 1890, the Lata stone fort was recovered, and the ground and water defense was strengthened. For more than half a century, the Lata Stone Fort was a border defense military heavy ground and the land anti-smuggling headquarters of Gongbeiguan, China's Customs, which was taken over by the People's Liberation Army in November 1949.
