Photos of Elephant Head Mountain

Elephant Head Mountain Scenic Area is located in the south-central part of Boluo County, 18 kilometers away from downtown Huizhou, covering an area of 33 square kilometers. Elephant Head Mountain was formed in the Cretaceous igneous rock. The rock walls are towering and majestic. The main peak, Crabeye Peak, is 1023 meters above sea level. The bedrock of the mountain forms a unique "stone egg" landscape, which is wonderfully stacked and realistic. Elephant Head Mountain is rich in biological resources, with a vegetation coverage rate of more than 90%. There are more than 1,500 kinds of plants, among which the more precious ones are Aden maple, narrow-leaf boxwood and many varieties of orchids; there are protected animals such as sambar, clouded leopard, and pangolin. The Xiaojin River, a tributary of the Dongjiang River originating from Xiangtou Mountain, is 24 kilometers long. The river is winding and narrow, with a drop of 704 meters.
