Wide and narrow alleys, the most market in Chengdu. Kuanzhai Alley is the best embodiment of the life of the city. From the eight-flag brothers of the Qing Dynasty during the Manchurian period, the birds and the flowers were used to make the grass; when the Republic of China was in the Republic of China, the nobles and the nobles were intertwined, the banquets and guests, and now the literati tourists have a cup of tea and a bamboo chair to taste the life. The wide and narrow alleys have become typical. A portrayal of life in Chengdu. Kuanzhai Alley is located in the central area of the city and plays an important role in Chengdu's overall strategic layout of historical and cultural city display system and historical and cultural heritage protection system.
Kuanzhai Alley witnessed Chengdu as the representative of the development and evolution of urban construction in the past three hundred years. The urban pattern of Chengdu's two rivers embracing and three cities is now only the location of the road network and the river, while the wide and narrow alleys still retain the historical traces of the late Qing and early Republican.
China's Mancheng system is one of the most intact in Chengdu's dozens of important cities. Kuanzhai Alley fully reflects the historical evolution of the Qing Dynasty in the past 300 years.
The historical and cultural background of Kuanzhai Alley has created its unique style of planning and architecture: the combination of a complete city pattern and barracks, the combination of northern hutongs and Sichuan courtyards, and the combination of Western architecture and Western Sichuan residences during the Republic of China. These characteristics have created the architectural art characteristics of the wide and narrow alleys, making it a scarce urban cultural resource in the current trend of urban convergence.

Walking street... But has some special features. One of them is interesting and funny installations reflecting life of previous epoch. Generally speaking, this is overcrowded block with very expensive restaurants and shops. But pictures and bas-relief are funny and attractive for shooting. This place is very very close to the people's Park.
It is a very beautiful and busy place. It's a little crowded. People dance in the open area infront of the alley. There are many shops to buy things as well as grab something to eat. Also, the buildings are stunning. You should definitely visit if you have the chance.
This alley is always fun to visit. After the bustle of the street, weaving between domestic and international tourists, I found an excellent cafe upstairs above the noise and relaxed for a couple of hours.
A fun day out with quite a lot to see, dont miss out on the opportunity to see the Opera, definitely worth it.
This was really worth doing. i loved walking the narrow streets and seeing so many anazing things. an absolute must when visiting Chengdu.
