St. Stefan Island is a coastal landmark of Budva, Montenegro, and a dazzling gem along the Adriatic coast of the Republic of Montenegro. It is about 6 kilometers from Budva city center and connected to the mainland by a natural sandy isthmus. The small town with pink-orange rooftops is embedded in the blue Adriatic Sea like a sparkling jewel! It was once a filming location for the 007 movie "Casino Royale" and is now a private Aman resort. 🏝️ Three Must-Visit Photo Spots 1. King’s Beach & Queen’s Beach Located right next to St. Stefan Island, these beaches have fine sand and clear water, offering a full panoramic view of the island. They are less crowded and clean, perfect for swimming and capturing distant island shots. 2. Miločer Cliffside Restaurant With an unobstructed view facing St. Stefan Island, it boasts an excellent sea view and is the top spot for island photography. Recommended to visit in the afternoon for soft lighting and great photos. 3. Pink Causeway The narrow path connecting the island to the mainland. In the early morning, the soft light colors the path with gentle pink tones. The red-roofed stone houses paired with the blue sea and sky make it a textbook photo spot. 🚗 Budva Round-Trip Transportation Guide 1️⃣ Bus (Best value choice) Boarding point: Budva Old Town "Bus stop to Sveti Stefan" Route: Line 101 Duration: About 20 minutes Fare: €2.5 per person Frequency: Every 30 minutes 2️⃣ Taxi (For convenience or group travel) Duration: About 20 minutes from the city center Cost: €15–20 one way Tip: It’s difficult to catch a taxi downhill for the return trip, so it’s recommended to save the driver’s contact information in advance. If you find yourself in Montenegro, here's a ready-made route for a whole day that we walked ourselves and highly recommend. Budva's Old Town, its citadel and the long, long seaside promenade all the way to Kamenovo Beach. Beautiful, unhurried and perfect for spending a day as a family or a couple. Let me take it in order. 🏛️ The Old Town and the citadel We started, like everyone, with Budva's Old Town. It's a compact labyrinth of stone streets surrounded by fortress walls right by the sea. Atmospheric, picturesque, and worth a visit for its own sake. The heart of the Old Town is the citadel, an old fortress with several centuries of history. Entry is paid, 6 euros per person, including for a child over 7. Inside there's a large hall with a library, rare books behind glass, a small maritime museum and, of course, a viewing platform with views over the tiled rooftops, the sea and the island of Saint Nicholas. I'll be honest: we expected to be able to spend a bit longer walking around inside, it being a paid place and all. In fact the citadel is fairly compact, and you get round it quicker than you'd reckon. But the views and the very atmosphere of the ancient walls are worth it, so treat it more as a beautiful stop at the start of the route than as a separate hour-long adventure. 🌊 The promenade, this is where the magic begins And then comes the best part, the long coastal promenade. From the Old Town we set off along the sea and just didn't stop: through Bečići, then Rafailovići and all the way to Kamenovo Beach. It's a very scenic route: the sea on one side, cafes, little restaurants and greenery on the other. Part of the way is a wide paved promenade, and closer to Kamenovo it turns into a narrower path, in places cut right into the rock. The views change at every turn, no time to get bored. Kamenovo Beach is a pleasant finishing point: pebbly, clean, with a calmer atmosphere than Budva's urban beaches. By the way, your route can be built in the opposite direction too, but then the sun will be in your face the whole way, which isn't very comfortable. ☕ How it went for us in terms of time To give you a sense of the scale of the walk: we arrived at the Old Town by midday, and only reached Kamenovo by 5 in the evening. And that's not because we walked slowly, but because it's a full day of pleasure. Along the way we hurried nowhere: we had coffee in cafes, ate dessert, even had a proper lunch with a sea view. The ideal format, when a walk isn't about the goal of getting from point A to point B, but is a rest in itself. 💡 Good to know 🔹 We were there in mid-April, and it's a great time: not hot yet, comfortable to walk, and no summer crowds. In summer this route will be more crowded and much hotter. 🔹 Set aside the whole day and comfortable shoes, the path is long but pleasant. 🔹 Bring money with you, both for the citadel and for coffee and lunch along the way. Montenegro isn't cheap. 💭 The verdict This route, the Old Town with the citadel plus the promenade to Kamenovo, I confidently add to the list of things you simply must do in Montenegro. It's everything at once: history, sea, views, good food and that unhurried holiday atmosphere. Highly recommend. Do you love long seaside walks like this that take a whole day? Or do you prefer short trips out to specific spots? Share in the comments 😊 #bucketlistdestinations #budva #montenegro

We managed to hit up Montenegro just before the tourist season kicked off, and we were absolutely thrilled! 🫰🏼 Day 1-2: Podgorica → Budva Flew into the capital and grabbed a direct transfer to Budva. Spent the evening strolling along the promenade to get the lay of the land. Day 3: Budva → Petrovac → Sveti Stefan Caught a morning bus to Petrovac (we planned to crash in Sveti Stefan, so we made a pit stop to drop off our bags at the hotel). Petrovac is super chill, with pine trees and turquoise water. Definitely take a boat ride to the island church (the ringing bells give off such a unique vibe). We grabbed lunch by the sea and took a walk along the promenade. We even hiked along the coast through the tunnels. Next, we hopped on a bus to Sveti Stefan. Snapped some pics of the legendary island hotel from the viewpoint (access to the island is for guests only). After that, we hiked along the coast all the way to Pržno! The trail hugs the sea, and the views are straight out of a postcard. Heads up, though! In the summer, some beaches are off-limits because they’re private, so you’ll have to detour around them. We spent the night right in Sveti Stefan so we could be the first to catch the sunrise over the island. Day 4: Sveti Stefan → Budva → Cetinje → Perast → Kotor Took a morning bus back to Budva, rented a car, and drove up to Cetinje, the former capital. Checked out the royal palace and the monastery there. Then we navigated the winding serpentine roads down to Perast: a tiny, picturesque town with two islands—Our Lady of the Rocks and Saint George. Spent the evening in Kotor. Pro tip: if you’ve got a rental car, you might also want to squeeze in a trip to Durmitor! ⛰️ Day 5: Kotor Hiked up to the viewpoint in the morning. The bay views are absolutely magical. Massive cruise ships dock in Kotor, so the city wakes up pretty fast. We enjoyed the Old Town under the stars and had dinner in the shade of the plane trees. We stayed right in the heart of the Old Town (it can get a bit loud at night, but morning walks through the empty streets are totally worth it). Day 6-7: Kotor → Tivat Headed over to Tivat, a modern, chic coastal resort featuring the Porto Montenegro marina. We just strolled around, eating ice cream while admiring the yachts. No rush at all. Flew out of Tivat Airport, which is super convenient—just a 10-minute drive from the city center. Good to know: · If you rent a car, brace yourself for narrow roads (especially the serpentine routes around the Bay of Kotor). · Buses are pretty reliable, but definitely plan your travel time between cities carefully. · The water in Tivat is noticeably murkier compared to Budva (we absolutely loved Mogren Beach), Perast, and Sveti Stefan. · Sveti Stefan is definitely on the pricey side. Montenegro is incredibly compact and stunning 🤍 🇲🇪

The best thing about Budva? 🌅🏔️🌊 You get the sea AND the mountains in the same view, which is especially during sunrise and sunset. Some of my favourite memories here are simply finding a beautiful spot, such as 📍Coco Bar Food & Sea 🍹, and watching the sky turn orange over the Adriatic. Montenegro l really live by one expression locals say all the time:“Polako, polako” 🇲🇪✨ (which means: don’t rush) One of the most beautiful places around Budva is actually around 10 kilometes outside the town, called Sveti Stefan🏝️. It’s a famous small island known for its 15th-century stone cottages, narrow cobblestone lanes, and red-tiled roofs, all connected to the mainland by a stone path 🌊 Start with a walk through the coastal park path that leads towards 📍Milocer Beach 🌲🌊 which has one of the best backdrops view of the mountains I’ve ever seen. The beach by Sveti Stefan is calm, shallow, and relaxing ☀️, while Milocer has more stones, stronger waves, and a wilder feeling 🌊 Afterward coming back, sit at the 📍Olive Restaurant with its beautiful sea view. There’s also a 📍 small café above the main road, right next to the turn down to the beach and viewpoint 📸 - one of the best panoramic spots in the area for photos and sunsets 🌅 Back in Budva, the Old Town is a must at sunset 🌇. Walk slowly through the stone streets with an ice cream in hand🍦, look at the luxury yachts in the marina, and check the different flags on them while the whole town lights up for the evening 🌃 And just outside the Old Town, along the rocky coastline, you’ll find the famous 📍ballerina statue standing on the rocks in the sea 🌊 - probably one of the most photographed spots in Montenegro 📸🇲🇪 For food shopping, HDL 🛒 is the main supermarket and has basically everything you need. But if you want fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, local honey, or fresh milk 🍓🐟 go to the 📍Zelena Pijaca market. Budva isn’t just a beach destination 🌊☀️ - it’s one of those places that teaches you to slow down and enjoy the view 🇲🇪 #travel2026 #thingstodo

🏨 Nestled in the picturesque Pržno, the Maestral Resort & Casino is a dream come true for travelers! From the moment you step in, expect to be wowed by the stunning sea views that greet you from the comfort of your room. 🌊 🍽️ Foodies, rejoice! The dining experience here is top-notch, with a variety of flavors to tantalize your taste buds. Whether it's a hearty breakfast to kickstart your day or exquisite local cuisine, your palate is in for a treat. 🥘 🎲 After savoring the culinary delights, why not roll the dice at the casino or unwind in the sauna and swimming pool? The resort offers a perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment. And if you're lucky, you might just score a late checkout to soak in a few more hours of bliss. 🎰 🚶♂️Venture out to explore the nearby Sveti Stefan Island, accessible via a scenic walk through a beautiful park. Despite being a bit of a trek from the city center, the journey is part of the charm. 🌳 📍Maestral Resort & Casino, Pržno, Sveti Stefan, Przno, Budva, 85315, Montenegro – where your Montenegrin adventure awaits! #Budva #BudvaHotel #BudvaTravel

Hey guys! Just got back from Montenegro and I’m literally obsessed. If you’re planning a Euro summer but want to avoid the crazy crowds and Sydney-level prices of Greece or Croatia, this is your sign to go here. It’s so beautiful and actually pretty budget-friendly! Here’s a quick wrap-up of my favourite spots, what I ate, and some practical info: 📍 Kotor The old town is absolute magic, full of tiny alleys and heaps of cute stray cats. You have to climb up to St. John’s Fortress for the sunset. Warning: it’s about 1350 steps and my legs were jelly, plus it costs €8, but the view over the bay is insane. 🍴 Food tip: Had the best grilled octopus with potato mash at 'Konoba Roma'. So good! 📍 Perast Just down the road from Kotor and way quieter. I took a €5 boat ride to the little island, Our Lady of the Rocks. Inside the church, they have these amazing old paintings and local history exhibits which were actually super cool to look at. Highly recommend sitting by the water afterwards with a glass of local white wine. 📍 Budva This place has more of a beach party vibe. The old town is like a little maze. I walked over to Mogren Beach (it’s free) and found some cool cliff jumping spots. 🍴 Food tip: Go to 'Jadran' in the old town for seafood risotto. Huge portions and didn't break the bank. 📍 Tivat Very different vibe here—super modern with massive luxury yachts and fancy shops. It’s a bit pricier to eat here, but it’s really nice for an afternoon walk. I rented a kayak for a bit which was heaps of fun! Wear something light-coloured, the photos here turn out so bright and clean. 📍 Sveti Stefan This is that famous private island owned by the Aman resort. You can’t actually go on it unless you’re a guest or want to drop €50 on their afternoon tea (a bit too expensive for me right now haha). But you can get the iconic photo for free from the lookout near Queen’s Beach! ✨ Quick tips: · They use Euros! Definitely carry cash because heaps of local cafes and boat rides don't take card. · We rented a car which made getting around super easy, but parking near the old towns is a bit of a nightmare. · The locals are super friendly and most speak great English, but learning a couple of local words goes a long way. Let me know if you’ve been or if you’re planning a trip! 👇

Traveler-BDThe ancient city of Kotor is located in the Kotor Bay of the Adriatic Sea. It has the most complete ancient city walls in Europe. The ancient buildings are full of a heavy sense of history! Climb up the city wall and overlook the blue sea. The view is superb. There are also shuttle boats and scattered houses.

Shahin Alom - RUThe Blue Grotto of Montenegro, the "mysterious blue eyes" hidden in the Adriatic Sea, is super romantic just by the name. The refraction of the sea water makes the cave appear dreamy blue, like a magical crystal world. 💎 When you enter by boat, it feels like you have entered a secret place. The sunlight penetrates the sea water and the light and shadow flow is super shocking. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a "natural mysterious world worth exploring"! Diving into it, you will be surrounded by deep and charming blue, and you can truly experience the unfathomable depth of the sea. But don't panic, this wonderful blue feast will make you can't help but sigh at the uncanny workmanship of nature. It is a must for diving enthusiasts, and ordinary tourists can also take a boat to experience this dream, a complete visual crit. 🌊
枫原没有万叶A place in the central part of Budva, very fun and nice
