What people are saying:

It is located near Seogwipo (Southern Jeju Island). I stayed at the Value Hotel Seogwipo, so I decided to visit it in the morning before returning on my afternoon flight. It is only a 10-minute drive from the hotel. No parking or entrance fees are required. You only need to trek 250 meters to reach the best photo spots. If you live in the Seogwipo area, it is generally worth a visit. Led by a friend who lives in Jeju Island, I travelled from the Oulai Path, which is less touristic, to Independence Rock, which is free of visitors. It is a natural rock that stands alone on the sea and is 20 meters high, formed by the condensation of volcanic eruption lava. Visiting at dusk, the sun hitting Independence Rock is softer, and the deep blue sea is pleasant. Viewing Independence Rock from different angles on the Oulai Road, you will have a different beauty, and the dense reeds on the road add a different look.

    More than the lone rock

The highlight of this place is the lone rock, where there is a lookout near the car park. Go past the lookout to see a different aspect of the rock. We were glad we did that.

    Good but average

The cliff is good and legends about it - too :) But couldn't recommend it as "must see" (sorry, Oedolgae!)

    Love the Olle Trail!

We went for Oedalgae and ended up taking an unplanned walk along Olle trail #7. It was drizzling when we arrived, we took some photos of the rock and explored the area. Further into the park, we fo...
