Liverpool
Liverpool
Liverpool, a coastal city in the English midlands, is a sleek and artistic metropolis. Premier League Football and the Beatles are its two major calling cards. Liverpool FC is an English giant who play at the iconic Anfield Stadium. In the early 1960s, the Beatles would frequent the city’s pubs and music halls with their infectious sound. Liverpool was recognized as a European Capital of Culture in 2008. The various museums and art galleries attract visitors from across the continent. Come boat along the Mersey River, visit the World Museum, or take the heritage tour through Croxteth Hall.

Stadium
Miss LexusAnfield Stadium-the home stadium of the Liverpool team, one of the 4 stadiums in this trip. It is also my husband’s favorite team. For the first time, I mainly asked for a photo. As a pseudo-fan, I was inexplicably excited when I saw the team's slogan "You'll never walk alone"! [fist]

By the end of the 18th century, Liverpool controlled 41% of the slave trade in Europe and 80% of the British slave trade. At the same time, it was also one of the main regions of the British Industrial Revolution. By the beginning of the nineteenth century, 40% of world trade passed through the Liverpool Dockyard. In 1830, the world's first passenger railway opened between Liverpool and Manchester. Liverpool’s population continued to increase rapidly, eventually becoming the second largest city in the UK.

Church
Tony淇Liverpool Cathedral (Liverpool Cathedral), also known as Anglican Cathedral, is the largest in Britain and fifth in the world. It was built in 1901. The exterior of the church is not very eye-catching, but the interior space is extremely high and ethereal. And you can enter for free to listen to the hymns of the choir. You can also climb to the top of the tower to watch the sunset over Liverpool.

M43***62Spent an afternoon here with my family and loved it. Any aspect of the history of Liverpool you would wish to know about is covered in this huge venue. Well laid out exhibits which work well for kids and adults. The transport and social/health areas were particular highlights for us. Clean, well ventilated and never felt at all crowded so a good pick for an outing in these times of covid.
