Cheung Chau is another outlying island in between Hong Kong Island and Lantau Island, and is a very famous spot for locals and tourists alike. Like Lamma Island, Cheung Chau is another accessible getaway from the city, and is full of wonderful traditional food and dessert stalls. Feel free to try the ice cream mochi, gigantic fish balls, noodle soups, and other local street food in the town area, or enjoy a few pints next to the beach at the Austrian-themed hostel. The island is also famous for a hiking track that leads to the “Cheung Po Chai cave” that once housed a notorious pirate in 19th century.
