Jinding Lake Review

My home is upstream of Shachang Reservoir. The scenery here is really beautiful.

Shachang Reservoir, also known as Jinding Lake, is 20 kilometers away from Miyun County and 85 kilometers away from the urban area, with a total area of more than 40 hectares. Completed in May 1973, a main dam, three auxiliary dams, one spillway, two water pipelines and two power stations were built. Jinding Lake is surrounded by mountains. The deepest part of the reservoir is 35 meters and the dam is 47 meters high. The lake is broad and clean, and the water gently surges with the wind. On the boat lake, the surrounding scenery is full of panoramic view, calm and natural. The sand on the shore of the lake is very fine, so the locals call the artificial lake Shachang Reservoir. The natural bathing ground has fine water and sand. It can swim and fish.

Fishing and picnic are not allowed, and spring 2017 is not allowed, a little sad.
