Located in the mouth of the river Porvo, a picturesque ancient city 50 kilometers east of the capital Helsinki, it was built in the 13th century and is the second ancient city in Finland after Turku. As early as the Middle Ages, Porvo was an important import trade center, and rows of red warehouses along the Porvo River showed people the history of Porvo's shipping, and it was a famous attraction for tourists competing to take pictures.
