The British Consulate for Dogs was the first consulate built by foreigners in Taiwan during the Qing Dynasty, west of the Taiwan Strait, overlooking Kaohsiung city and port. "Hit the dog" is a translation of the language of Taiwan's indigenous residents, representing a place name, meaning the British consulate in the place "hit the dog", and does not mean half insulting. A small two-story building, white lattice windows, brick red walls, rounded back to the spacious promenade, with green lawns, full of British air. Now an open-air cafe, full of romantic atmosphere, it is a great place for Kaohsiung people to relax and enjoy the beauty of the "Consul's wife afternoon tea".
