Photos of Fengxue Temple

The temple is one of the four famous temples in Henan Province. It was once as famous as Baima Temple, Shaolin Temple and Xiangguo Temple, and is known as the "Four Famous Temples in the Central Plains". The monastery is located at the foot of Shaoshi Mountain, with two mountains crossing a road, verdant trees and gurgling water. After walking 1500 meters north, you can find the monastery, which has the poetic and picturesque meaning of "the ancient temple hidden in the deep mountains" and "the winding path leads to the secluded place". The Buddhist hall in the temple was built in the Jin Dynasty and has a history of more than 800 years. It is a typical Jin Dynasty building. It was built on a 15-meter-high brick platform. In the Jin Dynasty building, the entire Buddhist temple did not use a single nail. The Pilu Hall was built in the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty. There are two large tower forests on the hillside around the temple, including 146 monks' tomb towers and other brick towers and stone towers in Tang, Yuan, Ming, Qing and modern times. There are several pagodas outside the temple, with 115 pagodas preserved in the past, as well as inscriptions of past dynasties and Buddhist statues of Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.
