Samoa|No visa, just go, it's beautiful
|No visa, just go, it's beautiful. Samoa is visa-free for Chinese passports. This time we took Fiji Airways from Nandi to Apia, Samoa. There is news that Hainan Airlines will resume direct flights from Haikou to Apia in September. Fill in the entry form on the plane when you need it at customs. The border inspection also said thank you at the time of entry, it seems that they are ready to welcome Chinese tourists. There are places to exchange money and apply for a phone card at the airport, which is very convenient.
We chose to rent a car for a round-the-island tour this time. The rental company is Budget, $250 for three days. The driver's seat in Samoa is on the right, you need to get used to it, the main road around the island is okay.
Accommodation
Aga Reef Resort - Recommend the waterside houses, with private beaches, infinity pools and free kayaks. The only drawback is that it is far from the airport.
Attractions
To Sua Ocean Trench - Samoa's number one attraction, a natural deep pit pool, you need to climb down the ladder, the water is clear and you can see fish, the water depth is about 1.4 to 2 meters, some places have undercurrents and need to be careful, it is recommended to go at noon when the light is good.
Waterfalls - Sopo'aga Falls, Papapapaitai Falls and Papaseea Sliding Rocks. The first two are viewed from a distance and are very spectacular in the jungle. The third waterfall is small and you can slide down.
Piula Cave Pool - A natural swimming pool by the sea, clear and bottomless with many fish, there may be more people on weekends.
Lalomanu Beach - Samoa's most beautiful beach, it is recommended to go in the morning, you can rent a fale for 50 tala a day.
Namua Island - You can take a boat at Namua Island Ferry, 50 tala per person, including round-trip boat tickets and fale on the island, if you are lucky, you can see turtles when snorkeling.
Baha'i House of Worship - The largest Baha'i church in the country, very spectacular, outside is a garden.
Apia - You can buy fresh fruits and souvenirs at Fugalei Fresh Produce Market, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Town Clock Tower, Cultural Village, Robert Stevenson Museum and Palolo Deep Marine Reserve are also worth a visit.
Food and drink
Paddles and Seafood Gourmet are recommended near Apia, and there is cheap McDonald's. If the time is right, you can try the food court at Cultural Village.
Return to Paradise Resort and Spa Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Amazing view at Sunset
Return to Paradise is one of the best place to stay in when you’re in Sāmoa. Even for the weekend, you’re guaranteed to have an awesome experience. The staff are lovely, the villas are gorgeous but the view at sunset is the best 🥰. I recommend this place if you’re planning a get away, or a sunset wedding!
