Fengxi Park

The site was originally farmland, Fengjing Town business in the Republic of China 16 years, built a small garden in the north of this area covering an area of about 2 mu (1333 square meters), with elegant scenery and strange bonsai, and later destroyed in the War of Resistance Against Japan. In early 1985, the Fengjing Town People's Government planned to build a park here. In February 1986, the Municipal Urban Planning and Construction Administration approved the requisition of land 21.32 mu (1.42 10,000 square meters), and in September of the same year, the Fengwei Township People's Government agreed to allocate adjacent land 8.55 mu (5700 square meters). The total land is 29.88 mu (1.99 10,000 square meters). The project is under the overall planning and greening design of Xie Jiafen, the Municipal Garden Design Institute, and the construction was organized by the relevant departments of Fengjing Town Government in the autumn of 1986. By the end of 1988, it cost 32.87 million yuan to complete the fence, terrain, and some roads, floors and greening projects, and the park has been in the form of a rudimentary model. Due to lack of funds, construction has been suspended since 1989. Only a few people in the park are responsible for conservation and management. Except for the elderly being allowed to enter the park to exercise in the morning, it is not open to the public. At the beginning of 1995, the town government raised funds, and the Municipal Bureau of Landscaping and the county people's government also allocated 200,000 yuan. Construction resumed in July of the same year, the antique gate building and pavilion project was responsible for Suzhou Foreign Construction Engineering Company, and the box office, tea room, toilet, greenhouse and other projects were responsible for the town and urban construction engineering company. The first phase of the project was completed in mid-December of that year, costing 90.78 million yuan, and the park opened to the public on December 20.

The ancient literati called Fengxi Fengxi, and the park was named after it. In 1995, the area of the park was 1.99 10,000 square meters, and the number of visitors in the first month was 3,000. Fengxi Park was officially opened to the public from December 20, 1985. The four words "Fengxi Park" on the door floor were written by Zhu Xuefan, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress.
