#timetotravel Shi-Men Ting (also known as Ximending) is the hippy district in Taipei where all the youngsters gather. As can be seen in the rainbow street 🌈, it no doubt is Taipei’s largest LGBT district. You can also find one of the oldest architecture, Red House (红楼). The streets are filled with countless of clothing shops, photobooths, claw machines, restaurants, and most certainly street food. On paper, Shi-Men Ting is a daytime + nighttime pedestrian shopping district in Taipei. However, most shops are not open until noon, so I would recommend visiting at night. But do note Shi-Men Ting can get really crowded with visitors at night. But when you are here, you should at least give this original Xingfutang a try. The boba here is so soft and chewy and it seems like it melts in your mouth. That explains the long queue! Also, you will able to see how the staff process the bubble tea, cook it and into your cup! They too have a set meal that comes with fried chicken where its sold everywhere. Well, in my own opinion, the chicken was just alright, nothing too fantastic. But for sure the bubble tea is a MUST go for! Please don't miss this out! Ask for the burnt brown sugar ones, you will be able to have some of the brown sugar crisp found in your drink too.

Queues can be insanely long, but they move rather fast.

Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 108 Taipei has been known as a food paradise where you can find a wide assortment of local cuisine. For cheap eats, please be sure to come to the Shi-men Ting street. The famous white bittergourd juice can be found there. I love the bitterness it gives, and enjoyed the drink. The famous fried chicken can also be found there. It is nicer than the one we had here. The chicken cutlet is always having long queue. There were many restaurants offering steam boats and grilled food. Ximending is a bustling tourist destination. Ideal for shopaholics as there are so many shops and brands to buy from. This is also one of the choice for places to stay in taipei. Very accessible from the trains system and the hotels are affordable in this area. Restaurants are obvious in every corner so eating will not be a problem even late at night. There are many young people walk on the street and I can feel the youth as well. 😊 Personally I think the food is not very tasty maybe because I not a street food lover. People sometimes say that Ximending looks really like Japan. I’ve never been to Japan so I dont know. Yet, it looks realy cool at night with all the lights and unique shops around. Also dont forget to try the Taiwanese milk tea if you come around this area #happynewyear #happynewyear

Ximending day and night. Ximending is an amazing shopping area which contains lots of different shops from little boutique to big store like uniqlo and there are also a lot of restaurants and market stalls. It's always so packed at night, lots of tourists as well. #happynewyear

This is one of the most happening and lively place at night. There are lots of food, dessert, bubble tea stores and shopping in the area. There is also a mini night market in the vicinity and you should try the street food. It’s a great place to spend your night there. You won’t be disappointed. #GiveThanks

Taipei is a very beautiful and relaxing city, and it’s famous for its milk tea of course 😝 There are so many temples in Taipei that you can visit, as well as one of the tallest building in the world, Taipei 101. If you don’t want to go up, you can opt for the elephant hill instead, where you can see both the tower itself and the city.
