Lengyan Temple is located at No. 16 West Xinxing Street, Yingkou City, in the center of Yingkou City. It is known as the "No. 1 Temple in Southern Liaoning". Together with Harbin Jile Temple, Changchun Banruo Temple and Shenyang Ci'en Temple, it is called the four major Zen forests in Northeast China. Shurangama Monastery was built in 1922 and completed in 1931. There are ninety-nine Buddhist halls in the monastery, the courtyards are neat and tidy, and the main buildings are distributed on a central axis running from the south to the north. The layout of the whole temple is three courtyards. The mountain gate is in the style of large eaves and Xieshan, with glazed tile roof, and it is resplendent. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there are bells and drums on the second floor, which is majestic and magnificent. The front is the Hall of Heavenly Kings, and the ridge of the hall is decorated with openwork dragons. The second entrance to the courtyard is the Daxiong Hall, which is the main building of the Shurangama Monastery. There are painted "mountain flowers" on each side, which is rare in other temples. The front of the three-entry courtyard is the Tibetan Scripture Building. There are many Buddha statues in the temple. The whole temple enshrines a total of 42 large-scale Buddha statues. On the east side of Shurangama Monastery is the Shurangama Pagoda completed in 1997. The pagoda is 61 meters high, octagonal, nine stories and hollow. Beautifully styled and powerful. Inside the pagoda, each floor is dedicated to a camphor wood gilded Buddha. Along the inner wall of the pagoda, 323 titanium-gold scriptures are inlaid, with all the Shurangama scriptures engraved on them, with a total of 6237 characters. Along the escalator walls, they are inlaid with black marble Buddhist murals, reflecting the eight statues. The Buddha statues carved from camphor wood reveal the breadth and depth of Buddhist culture.
