Christian Quanxi Church

Quanxi Hall is located at No. 208 West Street, Quanzhou City. In the 21st year of Emperor Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1895 AD), it was established by the Reverend Wen Gaoneng of the English Presbyterian Church, and the following year it became an independent West Street Church. At first, it rented an ancient house, and in 1925, a chapel with a combination of Chinese and Western architecture was built. This southern Fujian culture (with patterned clear water bricks decorating facades and pillars, with dented eaves, striped stone foundations, etc.) combined with Gothic (spired bell towers, arc-shaped shutters) has won the favor of modern architectural experts (last century In the 1990s), it is proposed to be protected as a key cultural relic.
