The Golden Gumboot

Not just kitchy.

Worth a short visit. The travel up the internal spiral staircase is full of historical information and some classic photos.

Good as a rendezvous or meeting point

Good as a rendezvous point and the story behind the gumboot is mildly interesting but that's about it.

Worth a visit

Make sure you climb up the gumboot to take in the view at the top, it feels like you are walking up a lighthouse. Well worth the little detour.

You could climb the staircase in the Gumboot for some nice views.Very good information boards around the area. I think they should have done a red gumboot!

I stopped by for lunch before rafting on the Tully River. It's on the outskirts of the city, and it's easy to understand when you get off the bus here and go to the city at lunch time and come back again at the meeting time.
